I hope the Trojans bring the level of play vs. Jackson to the game Thursday night......if they do that, we can win the game.......the most important thing as always with the Trojans is to get stops and not trade baskets!!

A win vs. Wheelersburg will give PHS a 3 game winning streak vs. the Pirates, which has not happened since 1978-1980........the series stands at 16-14 in favor of the Burg.

I look for a close and very physical ball game tonight..Burg just may shock some people tonight with the W.. But will be very tough to pull off a win at Portsmouth. Should be some interesting match ups on the court tonight..

If the Burg can get hot for behind the arc again, it will be interesting. The Trojans will have home court advantage and I am sure the fans will get to see an outstanding game between two in county rivals.

Going with the Burg in this one by 4.

Burg - 68
P-Town - 64

Halftime

Portsmouth 36
Burg 26

Burg had an 8 point lead at one time in the 2nd quarter and then Stegman went to the bench with foul trouble and the Trojans went on a huge run to lead by 10 at the half. It seemed like the Pirates were shooting nothing but 3's and not connecting on any. It could have been worse since McKinley missed a wide open dunk at the buzzer.

Burg blows the game in the last minute with 3 straight turnovers that lead to to 3 straight scores for Portsmouth and the Trojans hand the Pirates their first loss.

Burg was up 1 at the 1;50 mark. Evans was on fire tonight but I don't think dribbling down and taking 28 ft'ers off the dribble will lead you to the promised land . But he made them tonight. MD

you are right no doubt about it,,but without them tonight, we lose.....

now its 2 days for Christmas, then get on the plane for Florida on sunday for the team.

have fun!!

Great D by Portsmouth in the last minute! Way to shut down wheelersbug tonight boys! I can't wait for Andrew to get on the court. With him tonight, Portsmouth wins by 15-20 points. Go Trojans!

3 STRAIGHT WINS OVER THE BURG!

Great game, and I agree that it was not great shot selection by Evans, but he did hit it. Even more surprising was Burgs next trip down the floor, down by two points they try a three off a screen with McBee and he missed it. Didn't see any reason for that. It's a shame the game hinged on the traveling call at the end. Good or bad call, doesn't matter, it's a call that is seldom made and especially at that crucial of a moment in the game. We will all get to see it in replay as I think this game will be replayed on the watchthezone.com. If anything, it might have been a carry or turning the ball over.
