Biggest Upset Win This Season

Post by Ironman92 »

What were the big upsets around the SE District?

The biggest to me was Paint Valley over Vinton County

Wellston over Athens was big.

Lesser....

Waverly over Oak Hill
Green over East

Hard to even consider the TVC Hocking...so many it's actually hard to tell whether or not they were upsets.

Adena over Unioto for sure.

Symmes Valley recent struggles are making the ND win seem more and more unlikely

My thoughts exactly..with Symmes talent this should not be considered that big of an upset.. but as it turned out, it was.

Gallipolis' 48-46 win over Chillicothe because it was Gallia's first ever win over the Cavs. CHS, from the 1928-29 season, had won 22 straight over the Blue Devils during the past 85 years. You'd thought GAHS had just won a title of some kind after the gaame.

I think Paint Valley over Vinton County has to be #1.

Vinton County (17-3) with wins over the top two teams in the SVC in Piketon (19-3) and Zane Trace (16-5) loses, at home to the last place team in the league, Paint Valley (7-14).

Adena (4-18) over Unioto (14-8) was also really big.

I'll probably get crap for this, but Eastern Pike over a healthy Piketon is up there for me as well, especially after the loss against West.

I agree....but losing to West and how much Piketon has rolled since magnifies it that way a bit.

I agree, VC losing to PV at home was a pretty big head scratcher. Logan over Athens was also a pretty big upset. At the time Logan was 4-11 and had just been beaten by Athens a week or two prior.

@Logan and Athens without their PG drops this one down a lot for me

I don't think GA over Chillicothe is that big if an upset. Isn't Chili like (8-14)?

Altogether agree with Hillsboro defeating Eastern Brown, but must protest with North Adams over Peebles. No wrinkle with the Peebles gameplan and/or variance in their approach to a game, no matter the opponent. Where is the offense? I Witnessed two contests this season and wished for the quick return of my entry fee during the latter.

If you have seen West play you would understand how they have beat teams like Eastern and Valley. One night you watch them and they don't even look like a 500 team, then another night they look like the best team in the league. They have several guys who are just flat out streak shooters, so when they are on they are on. They scored like 44 points against Waverly a few days before they played Eastern, then put up 28 in one quarter on the Eagles.

North Adams over Peebles is the smallest upset listed....and they did it twice.

Eastern Brown lost early in the year playing @ a D2 team that got off to a 4-1 start....as the year's went on it has looked a little bigger.
