I say him and the young assistant run it back one more time.

Well considering they’ve only had 4 coaches since 1984 and 2 since 2005, I think they have a pretty good handle on what they’re doing.E High wrote: Mon Mar 31, 2025 9:26 pm If he’s getting out, he should do it in September so the clueless hiring process doesn’t happen. Re: Open Jobs
Now would be the perfect time for any up and coming coach to leave, an opportunity to Coach at Ironton doesn't come around often. The best man for the job is already a coach at Green, JD King. He is one of the best coaches in the area without a doubt, but I bet he wont even think about leaving until Knapp graduates or transfers.

Also Coach Persin is sticking around for another year, so is Fenton. It is likely Norm will be in a grave before he even thinks about not coaching again. He is one of the greats and is a great motivator.

I’m sure there’s some new people in charge there. Just be careful. Never know what school boards and administrators will do.FalconFever02 wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 9:25 amWell considering they’ve only had 4 coaches since 1984 and 2 since 2005, I think they have a pretty good handle on what they’re doing.E High wrote: Mon Mar 31, 2025 9:26 pm If he’s getting out, he should do it in September so the clueless hiring process doesn’t happen. I say Norm will be sticking around for at least another 4 years with his grandson being a freshman next school year the question on my mind is with Norm at 823 career victories can he stay long enough to get 1000 as a huge South Webster fan it would be cool to witness the 1000 career coaching victory of Norm Persinaxebodyspray43 wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 11:17 am Also Coach Persin is sticking around for another year, so is Fenton. Not going to happen, and I say that with the utmost respect for Norm, he’s a legend, but no shot.Jeeps06 wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 10:07 pmI say Norm will be sticking around for at least another 4 years with his grandson being a freshman next school year the question on my mind is with Norm at 823 career victories can he stay long enough to get 1000 as a huge South Webster fan it would be cool to witness the 1000 career coaching victory of Norm Persinaxebodyspray43 wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 11:17 am Also Coach Persin is sticking around for another year, so is Fenton. Let's just say he does stick around for 4 more years. If so, he would need to ave 44 Wins a season in order to get to 1000 Wins. Yea I would say ... Not going to happen.SWJeeps22 wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 7:30 amNot going to happen, and I say that with the utmost respect for Norm, he’s a legend, but no shot.Jeeps06 wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 10:07 pmI say Norm will be sticking around for at least another 4 years with his grandson being a freshman next school year the question on my mind is with Norm at 823 career victories can he stay long enough to get 1000 as a huge South Webster fan it would be cool to witness the 1000 career coaching victory of Norm Persinaxebodyspray43 wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 11:17 am Also Coach Persin is sticking around for another year, so is Fenton. Norm got them eugenics working for him. He looked so much healthier this season compared to last. When he’s ready to hang it up, SW’s already got their guy for decades to come.
SW’s #2 fan

I would agree. SW is in good shape. The Ghost of Swanker wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 12:59 pm Norm got them eugenics working for him. He looked so much healthier this season compared to last. When he’s ready to hang it up, SW’s already got their guy for decades to come.
Re: Open Jobs
South Webster was in good hands 2 seasons ago, was in even better hands last season with a healthier Coach Persin and will be fine this coming season with Coach Persin/Coach Fenton in my opinion freed up even more "to coach" the returning SW squad ...SWJeeps22 wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 2:50 pmI would agree. Where do we stand on filling the open positions?
Waverly?
Ironton?
Adena?
Fairfield Union ... no talk about FU ... lots of returning talent for the Falcons - young talent - will be juniors this season ... one of the best inside players in SEOhio last season in freshman 6-4 freshman Asa Kline ... one of the better coaching staffs with Coach John Helber as the assistant varsity coach who has varsity head coaching experience (Logan) ...

Waverly with numerous "applicants" - some very interesting. Interviews will be taking place.pfloyd wrote: Thu Apr 03, 2025 4:09 pm Where do we stand on filling the open positions?

Re: Open Jobs
... good stuff smurray ... as I've been going over my notes, napkin stats, roster sheets - just gathering my thoughts to roll on my preseason rankings - Waverly is a big "?" - I love the roster ... size, length, a proven young PG ... depth ... young/talented driven to work in the off season players ... lacking right now is "direction"/leadership at the top to push the noise to the side, guidance in developing the talent in the off season to direct ALLLL of those pieces to be BETTER this next season, to make it so players are developing the "role players" to be better for the upcoming season ... right now good talent, size will still be good talent & size next season BUT for the TEAM to develop into a next level TEAM - that talent, that size has to work among themselves to develop each other, to maximize returning talent ... I mentioned on another post and I fully believe this "teams are only as good as their weakest link" it should be a goal to put as many players - role players/bench players/STARTERS - in off season position to grow as players that raises that "weakness" level where that level isn't an area to attack by opponents - especially in the post season ... I may be wrong smurray but if I'm thinking right the Tigers have players - Kage Alexander for sure - who play next level AAU ball ... if I look at Minford from last year - they were not only talented in Montgomery/Kayser - they had an attitude - Montgomery & Kayser BELIEVED they were the best players on the court every time they walked on the court - that comes from proving it to themselves in the offseason BEFORE they walked on a court during the season/post season ... Trey Robertson HAD "it" , he believed that HE was the best player on the court every time a game tipped off ... he also was able to make his teammates BELIEVE that HE WAS IN FACT the best player on the court - he proved it every game ... when TEAM believes, no one wants to let anyone else down ... players in the post season HAVE TO HAVE that "it" factor ... Alexander has that ... others HAVE the talent/physical qualities to DEVELOP that - do they have the "want to" it takes to develop that "it" factor ... this is a big hire for Tiger Nation - have to find the HC that can push the players , put them in position to grow in skill levels along with showing that hard work has results that will continue to have players push themselves & each other ... keep us informed smurray ! ...smurray wrote: Thu Apr 03, 2025 4:35 pmWaverly with numerous "applicants" - some very interesting. Re: Open Jobs
Waverly is the best opening IMO for the chance to win right away. Minford and Ironton will always have nice athletes and long term both of those are probably more sustainable.

... is the Minford position open ? I haven't read anything about it yet, did I miss something?GoAt 10 wrote: Thu Apr 03, 2025 6:59 pm Waverly is the best opening IMO for the chance to win right away. Whiteoak has some players coming in the next few years. I’ve heard a good name potentially for coaching
