Re: 3/1 Fairland vs. Ironton
This Portsmouth Trojans fan wishes the Ironton Fighting Tigers good luck on Saturday in the district championship.
Ironton needs to step up its intensity like it did vs. South Point. I thought that IHS did not defend against Peebles like they did against the Pointers. Fairland has a more balanced offense than Peebles had, and I think the Fighting Tigers post players will have to be on their game to defend and box out Baumgardner(Spelling?) and Lamb.
Dustin Green has been playing very well for Ironton........I am going with the Tigers to win this game, but if they don't come out and play with more intensity this time around, it could send IHS home for the season.

I've gotta go with Lafon and the Tigers! For one I think Lafon will win the battle of coaching and like I have said before the Tigers schedule was much tougher than the Dragons during the season and I believe that this will help the Tigers with the victory!! Let's go T-I-G-E-R-S!!!!!
Re: 3/1 Fairland vs. Ironton
Fairland has more B-ball talent man for man but haven't learned how to utilize it.
Ironton is more aggressive, relentless on D and board crashing. In the end, Belville will be baffeled.

Re: 3/1 Fairland vs. Ironton
both of these teams are very talented no doubt about that....Fairland has the height advantage with Bumgardner and Lamb.....but i believe ironton has the better guards....dont get me wrong hatfield and jordan are good guards but their shot selection isnt so great at times.....if you miss unnecessary shots against ironton they will make you pay.....im pulling for the fellow ovc school in fairland but i see ironton winning this game simply because of the way the lewis kid played against peebles he can keep bumgardner off the glass and spark the ironton transition offense.....the greene kid for ironton must score again for them....thats the only doubt i have in ironton they dont have a legit scorer that ive seen....marc's gonna get em 12-18 a night but fairland will try to make this high scoring
my prediction:
Ironton 66
Fairland 60
Either way Lawrence county gets a team to the regionals.....good luck guys

the only question I have is; can Ironton handle two big men inside? and who's going to cover Lamb outside if he starts popping the 3's? he scores both ways.

I have to go with the Tigers on this one. These are two great basketball teams but the Tigers have a deeper bench than Fairland does. Good luck to both teams but Go Tigers!

Good Luck to the Tigers from Ironton. They continue to be one of the top programs (in any class) in Southeastern and Southern Ohio. Represent the SEOAL well. There are only a few of us left.
GO CAVS!!!

a month ago i would think you were crazy if you said ironton was going to the regionals, but like the saying goes, once the tourny starts every team is 0-0. Good luck Tigers.

Re: 3/1 Fairland vs. Ironton
This should be a fun game to watch. Just my 2 cents, but the key to this game for both teams would be Lewis for Ironton and Hatfield for Fairland. If Lewis gets double digit rebounds again, give Ironton the edge, on the other hand, if Hatfield handles the Ironton Press without much problem, give the edge to Fairland. I'm calling it a toss up, but as always, GO TIGERS!

Re: 3/1 Fairland vs. Ironton
At this stage in the tourney, anyone can win. With that said,i look for Ironton to win.
Defense will be a big key for Ironton. If i'm Ironton i like Lamb out on the perimeter on offense. That means he's not grabbing a rebound. And Ironton can not let Baumgardner have easy put backs like he did against North Adams.Fairland is very good, they pass the ball well and shoot and rebound good.I know throughout the regular season they subed alot of kids.If the Tigers can play their style of game and shoot pretty good they will have an excellent chance for a WIN.Also Ironton has shot their free-throws very good the last part of the season and in the playoffs.
Ironton will sure miss not having Tim Koke
