They lost a 6'3/6'4 player that you figure would've started or been a significant contributor.

I dont think it is Coach Young last year. He is too good of a coach and has a great program over there at North Adams. But I have been wrong in the past. And the new kid at Eastern, I saw him and I would say around 6'6 with good hands and feet work.

Peebles should be fun to watch, all the fire power that they have and a coach that is very knowledgable about the game. Fairfield lost a couple key players but return some good scorers. Nobody from Manchester is on here or just over looking them. I only had them with 1 senior starter from last year. I believe they return their leading scorers and when I saw them, their 6th man was a junior. I doubt the Marshall kid from West Union will move in and start unless he is pretty good but its hard to move in and learn a system in a few months. What does Ripley have returning, they seem to always be in the mix?

Rumor has it that Rothwell has had a change of heart and will return this season.

I also heard Rothwell will return this season. I am glad to hear that, I didnt want him to look back in 5 years and wish he would have played. I did hear its Dave's last season, but that has been going around for about the past 5 years.

West Union has Williamsburg in their charity game, along with scrimmages lined up with Piketon, Dayton Jefferson, and Bracken County (KY)

Isn't Dayton Jefferson where Adreian Payne plays? I'd like to watch him, he is already a top 20 player for 2010 with offers from pretty much every major school. That's going to be a huge test for the Dragon post players.

Yes, Mr. Payne does play for Jefferson. It should be fun to watch him as well as the Dragon post players. Coach Brewer seemed to schedule a decent scrimmage schedule for the sake of the kids at the varsity level. It will be interesting to see how the dragons (who will be starting 6'9, 6'7) will play him.

Payne will be the best player they see this season. If they play him well that would definetly give them a confidence boost.

didn't west union lose a real big kid to manchester? didn't eastern brown get another australian? you would think that beucler would think twice about selling his soul to the devil again. he lost a lot of respect with the australians in 2002. did peebles new coach bring in any new recruits?

Sparky: I think Tar Heel 44 said Manchester got the Marshall kid from West Union but I believe he is a guard. From the talk around the league, I believe Eastern has went to another continent and got a player from Austria. They are working their way around the globe. Peebles coach didnt have to bring in any recruits as they return everyone and are loaded!

You all can go to c103.fm, click on SHL and vote for your pick to win the SHL in boy and girls and in each division.

The Dragons had a very successful weekend. Friday night the Dragons went to Williamsburg and played. Looked decent but from the way Coach Brewer talked, he didn't like what he had seen. The next morning West Union traveled to Piketon to play Piketon and Dayton Delphos Jefferson (not Dayton Jefferson as originally thought). I actually was at this scrimmage and IMO, West Union and Piketon were very evenly matched. West Union won three games, tied once and lost two. Both games were by very slim margins. One, maybe three points in the second loss.

Yeah, I thought the boys played well last Saturday. Still have alot of work to do, just like all the teams right now. West Union will be traveling to Bracken Co tonight. This should be another good test for the Dragons. The Marshall kid is around 6'1, and probably will play a 2 or 3 guard. GO DRAGONS!!
