I thought that it was a fair game, well atleast the officiating wasnt the reason for them getting beat. However, Eastern played the hardest of the 4 teams and I feel like they deserved to win....but that isn't always the case

Yes,it was a fair game,Waverly just made the plays down the stretch and Eastern did'nt.The technical foul was huge in this game I think..Gotta be smarter than that late in the game however, I think McVey was mad at himself, and not the call but you still can't do that, plus you know Jenkins was just dieng to T someone up as he had'nt got to all night lol.Very impressed with the way Eastern played.Hope they get a win Tuesday night.

I just feel that the refs could have done a way better job...and I agree I think jenkins just wanted to T someone up.cause of the intensity of the game...I also think the waverly radio broadcasters shouldn't have said that stuff about Easterns fans...waverly was jus as bad!.

The officiating was well.............poor to say the least. Jenkins wanted light somone up with T that was bad call. The kid was upset with himself and just let some frusturation out by slapping the floor I mean come on!
That said Waverly won a pretty fair game b/c they got out to 11-0 lead and everytime Eastern got it back down to 4 which happened like five times Roback, Martin or Kretzer (he's only a freshmen ppl) had the big play. Waverly never let Eastern get with one posession in the final quarter, that game was a battle. Good Luck to both teams Tuesday night.

I do not believe that the officiating decided the game. As far as it going in favor of Waverly....I do not really see that as Lundy & Roback both fouled out & I believe Remy ended up with 4 fouls.

As far as the radio: That is a topic that I believe very badly needs addressed in Pike county. These announcers [each of them] would rather spend the entire game crying over officiating or complaining of how badly the non Piketon & Waverly fans are acting no matter who they may be playing]. Trust me, I am taking nothing away from Piketon or Waverly: Both have very nice programs & very good teams this year. But I for one would be embaressed to hear these announcers calling any game for my school.
Just turn one game on & you will hear completely how bad the fans are out of control or how this or that should or should not have been called, but you will rarely know what is actually happening on the court.

I am not saying Easterns fans were not bad last night, they may have been, but are you going to tell me that Western, Piketon & Waverly all had the perfect fans & knowone complained all night as far as their teams went?
I know for a fact that I set in a section that was not fans of Eastern & I heard a little foul language & yelling at the officials....It is the Pike county Holiday tourny...Emotions go a little wild even for the adults.....

I think the radio station would love to have some guys to do Piketon and Waverly games but no one wants to do it so you end up with the guys that you have.

Listen to a Piketon football game sometime, I would think we got screwed on every play all year had I not actually been at the games.

I have been to hundreds of HS games over the years and can count on one hand how many times a game was decided by the officials.

Why don't people let that nonsense go, officials aren't out to screw your team.
They do make mistakes as they are only human, but 99% of the time the right call is made.

toro loco and super buster : you know what. both of you need to get a clue. we did not, i repeat did not bad mouth the eastern fans. the refs were bad for both sides. and i dont even broadcast the redstreak games. all i said about both fans is that they were both fired up and you could hear the eastern fans more bc they were right behind us. we call it like we see it. i did the eastern coal grove game did you hear that particular game? some of my best buddies are from eastern as a matter of fact what was it we said about the eastern fans. if there was something bad i will apologize right now. we are not on here to bash fans we just call it like we see it. if that is wrong well so be it. we just tell the listeners exactly what was going on. just like when they wanted to give a T to coach robertson and they followed him over to the bench to do that. no ref should look for the technical foul which is what they did to the eastern kid. do you guys personally know me if not then you need to come over and really get to know me bc i am usually friends with everyone and everybody. its just like coaching and teaching you can please everyone and i am not going to even try. have i ever went to your jobs and said you guys were no good. then dont tell me how to do mine. if you dont like it dont listen and if that doesn't satisfy you, you do the broadcasting. you are entitled to your opinion but i am not on the radio to say bad things about anyone, i say it as it actually happens, no offense to any fans or teams.

superbuster : crying about the refs. the refs were a little inconsistent all nite but again when did i run the western fans down or the eastern fans . did you guys listen to the entire broadcast? or just bits and pieces. i didn't even do the western game, maybe you are refering to the wxzq crew from piketon bc they did that game. like i said earlier, in the second game things got a bit chippy but it was both sides not just eastern. i remember doing an eastern game down at green when several fans from eastern got tossed for throwing water bottles on the floor or something and i said that they probably should not have done that but i said they had every right to be upset over a ghost foul call on and inbounds play that cost them the game. i am not really upset for both of your opinions but its like HBK said if you really knew me you know i am not a cut throat kind of a guy. oh well cant please everybody, thats life.

I dont know which station your with but wxzq 100.1 is horrible as far as crying,complaining,not keeping up with the game,and being bias when they broadcast 2 Pike County schools.You would think every official in the state of Ohio is out to get Piketon.It's very hard to listen too.

I will have to say right here that I am sorry. I will give you credit. You do call the game to where we do know what is going on....But you are one of the only ones on Pike co. radio that will at least let us know what is going on during the game & not complain about everything else all evening.

I do know you & I know that you do a great bit for Pike co. sports & you put alot of your own time into it.

As far as the fans, I was at the game not listening on the radio...My comments on that was that each team has very emotional fans...Not just one team....

Also. trust me, I have a clue....I did not state that you bad mouthed anyone as far as fans go [read my post] I just stated that all of the fans are very emotional for this tourny & that it is not just fans from one team.

I am sorry to have posted my opinion on this radio topic but the truth is the truth....
TFred does fine [I do apoligize to him for stating otherwise I should have been more clear] but as far as these other announcers....I will stick to what I said about them in my previous post.

superbuster: i to apologize to you bc i did not read your post clearly. i was aiming more towards toro loco than you. i appreciate the kind words and i probably should not have overreacted to an opinion. i apologize for telling you to get a clue. i try to do the best i can do and i do tell things exactly how we see them. sometimes people dont want to hear exactly but thats the way i do it. it is hard sometimes when you do a game bc you do kind of root for the team you are covering. this is the 1 thing that i am still working on. to be non-biased to either team. this is harder to do than you think. i want all pike co teams to succeed bc we follow them in the tournament and western and waverly(ftball) gave us a most enjoyable ride a few yrs ago. the fans do get a little more excited during this holiday classic, you are right about that. but that is what makes it fun, the atmosphere. i am sure tue night will be no different. again i apologize and i was wrong in saying that about you superbuster. sometimes i take things to heart too much. i need to work on that also. see you tue night and both games should really be exciting.
