If you, the coach, don't get support from the start how are you supposed to succeed? Just a question?

And how exactly are they living in the past. Please clarify b/c I'm confused by that statement.

Come on.....the arm chair coaches have ALL the answers!

I'm proud of the kids no matter how poorly they play at times.
Losers like sparky need to get a role model or some essence of a life instead of constantly bashing a school or its fanbase because of petty jealousy.

No not fair weather fans. They just dont want to get out in the cold to watched webster play because they are not a well diciplined team. or prepared to play, always argues and fights on the court. I havent been to many games but what i have seen i just dont understand the gameplan the coaching staff aproaches each game with. I know that they have lost a lot of talent in the past years. but lets not live in the past and move on. they need to Start building a program NOW, by hard work, dicipline, and dedidication. I think its time for a change.

If you have not been to many games how do you know what the problems are? This bunch of boys are well DISCIPLINED and DEDICATED! They go out on the floor every game and give it their best. Thats all us "Fair Weathered Jeep Fans" expect!
I have been to EVERY game and have not seen 1 arguement on the court! We took a tough loss last night. Our point guard was out with an injury and we brought up one from the JV to run point on varsity. Also alot of our boys focus on their school work also. Maybe you should do the same.

They arent living in the past. I was talking to the person who was talking about fair weather fans.On that statement. I have been to everygame matter of fact i just didn't state that clearly in my last post. I believe that a the players and the coaching staff are both to blame here. Assist. Rey has an idea of what he is doing just doesnt have the authority. I might be wrong?

Also they have gave the coaches plenty of support but it's kinda hard to keep suporting the coaches when it seems the "coach" could care less if they win or lose, and don't give a 100%. Also you don't have to be a genuis to know that something is not right when 3 players quit and its only half way through the season? Once again this is just my opinion on the programs unseces. Whats your opinion loveball8?

Always exuses! You must be up in the stands feeding your face with popcorn and not paying attantion to the game? No they aren't arguinor fist fighting DUH!! i meant that they always are pointing fingers at one another never wanting to take the blame for mistakes. That causes lack of team chemistry.
Which i think that webster has some good young talant, which is why i get so frustated that the team is not more succesful than they are.

Thats the kind of response we are getting used to out here in jeep land. NONE Put our heads in the sand and say everthing is alright. Bad subject, change in on this one. There is young talant, and senior talant is the oldest malone boy hurt or something. It can't be his defense that is keeping him out of the game, because we play none. Well we chase the man we are guarding around in circles two to three passes away from the ball, and bounce up and down in one place some. I would comment on transition defense but it would have to exist to have a discussion. It is truely sad that kids are quiting and moving away from a very good school system.

There are a number of issues you can discuss as far as what is wrong in Jeep land. The only thing that I will agree with burgkid on is no chemistry! There is no TEAM ball. I have said it over and over. What happens when some players in both JV and Varsity turns the ball over multiple times or forces bad shots! NOTHING!!!! So they continue to do it because they know they wont come out of the game. So they dont play defense, force shots and continue to turn the ball over. So they are not diciplined at all, burgkid! These coaches are being so persuaded by the parents its not even funny. I heard again today that there was a parent and coach altercation again after oak hill. These coaches are worried about the parents to much, instead of doing whats right for the team!
So for all of you Jeep fans that are heading to JV and Varsity game at Minford tomorrow night , just watch and see who stays on the floor and who gets substituted and you will begin to understand some of whats going on in Jeep land! I dont want all parents to be offended by this just the ones that apply!

PS. I dont stuff my face with popcorn and I do pay attention to the game!

j88,
my point is that not only south webster but most teams that have been successful in the past and they start to struggle their posters on here seem to diminish. that is what i call a fair weather fan. the true supporters go with their team through thick and thin.

sparky: This Webster fan is still around. I don't post nearly as much as I used to with long hours at work and a family at home, but I still find time to lurk on here and read up on the Jeeps and southern Ohio basketball in general. As for the "fair-weather" fans, you're right. But I don't think that goes on just at Webster.

As for the Jeeps, what games have they lost that they shouldn't have? The SOC II is loaded this year. Like I said, I think the Jeeps are improved, but it's not showing up in the win column because the league and their nonconference schedule are just too much for them this year. I guarantee though they are the low-seeded team in the Sectional that none of the top seeds will want to hit in a Sectional Final game. If they played an SOC I schedule, they'd be over .500. Hang in there fellas (and fans), better days are ahead.*
