Re: State Tournament 2018
Yikes. At least I'm getting some major points in the pickem since I'm the only one who had this as a huge blowout.

Re: State Tournament 2018
Fun fact: Trotwood-Madison would have been Division I if not for competitive balance. The moving up of Lincoln West from D2 to D1 caused Trotwood-Madison and Aurora, both of whom were tied as having 361 EMIS + CBP, to move down to D2.

The irony is probably lost on our friends from Byesville today.
. A good friend of mine teaches there and coaches at the junior high level. I haven’t heard from him today. He knew it was going to be tough.

Re: State Tournament 2018
That community has a lot to be proud of. They ran into a buzzsaw. Problem is, this might end up being a minor backfiring of the CBP. I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a topic of some contention in the offseason: "how did a team that is regularly successful in D2 or D1 in basketball, and was slated to be D1 if not for competitive balance, end up in D2. Where's the competitive balance in that?"LucasDavenport wrote: Fri Mar 23, 2018 12:57 pm The irony is probably lost on our friends from Byesville today.. Re: State Tournament 2018
It’s not a perfect system. It’s a first attempt and needs some tinkering to be sure. Trotwood was the heavy favorite in D2 last year as well but were upset by Akron St Vincent St Mary. Trotwood had defeated A St V by 30 or so in the regular season.
Perhaps a move to 5 or 6 divisions would help but I don’t think most want that and it creates problems for The State Tournament as 4 divisions works perfectly for the 3 day setup.

Interesting that an attendance figure hasn’t been given as of yet for the 10:45 game.
Our Southeast crew has the 2:00 game. Akron St V vs Lexington.

Re: State Tournament 2018
Should be another blowout similar to the one we witnessed in the first D2 game. Lexington should be able to keep it a little closer, but I'd be shocked if it's within 20.LucasDavenport wrote: Fri Mar 23, 2018 1:50 pm Interesting that an attendance figure hasn’t been given as of yet for the 10:45 game.

9003 was the attendance for Trotwood-Madison and Meadowbrook.LucasDavenport wrote: Fri Mar 23, 2018 1:50 pm Interesting that an attendance figure hasn’t been given as of yet for the 10:45 game.

EDIT: danicalifornia is correct, I'm wrong on this one. Thought that I saw it as 9003.

Re: State Tournament 2018
I think that’s what most expect. Hopefully Lexington can make it interesting.
The finals are lining up to be competitive though as The Semifinals seemed to keep the best 2 teams away from each other for the most part.
Thanks for the attendance figures. It’s still showing up as 0 online. I figured at least 1000 were in attendance.
