Logan falls to Lancaster 64-53, bigger win because of free throws. Both big guys for Logan fouled out.

Re: Logan 2016-2017
Not really a bad loss for the Chiefs . They took a real hit to start the game . They regrouped and fought back to close to 4 points a couple of times in second half . Logan not only lost both bigs but played alot without them ( first half and second half ) Lancaster was able to get in the double bonus both halves and Logan unable to even get into one and one either halves . Chiefs never gave up and played alot with 4 sophomores on the floor . Lancasters big scorer had 18 at half but managed one basket second half. Good player. Alot of basketball ahead . Go Chiefs!!!!!
Re: Logan 2016-2017
It's been said that Logan needs to stay out of foul trouble this year. But being so young and new coach, they will only get better. I can't believe their schedule. Most all real good teams. I'll keep an eye on them from the river.

After the 1st Logan and Lancaster played a tie ball game with the big boys being out a lot
Logan Reserves won 29/23 and freshman lost 29/32

Re: Logan 2016-2017
Logan was able to overcome a poor start by double teaming Lancaster's Jacob Arter. The Gales jumped out to a 28-13 lead at the end of the first quarter led by Arter's 14 points (including 2 strong dunks). Logan then went to a double and sometimes triple team on him the rest of the night and it worked out. Arter scored 2 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, and 2 in the 4th to finish with 20 (his 2 hand dunk for his 20th point sealed the victory for the Gales). Lancaster stayed tough though and battled through it. They rested senior starter Nate Anderson for most of the night due to a knee injury. The Gales were forced to use their very inexperienced bench a lot in this game. This was a good win for a Gales to get them to 3-1 early in the season. With the brutal league Lancaster plays in, they HAVE to win their non-league games, especially close ones like last night. Lancaster finished with 4 guys in double figures (Arter 20, Gootee 12, Dawson 11, Anderson 10). If Logan can stay out of foul trouble they will do well this year. The future also looks pretty bright for them as they played several sophomores on the varsity and their JV and Freshmen teams weren't bad either. Myers finished with 22 and Bell had 12 for the Chieftains. Good luck to both teams moving forward.

Was going to be tough task for the young Chiefs.Wow only 8 turnovers and still lose by 11. So I looked a little farther and saw the foul difference . Logan will need to get use to having no love from OCC officials. Just saying Looking from the outside. Good luck to both teams rest of season.

Re: Logan 2016-2017
Arter was running off double low post screens to free him up . Logan only doubled teamed him when bringing ball past mid court as they have done on other games . He was never tripled teamed as quoted. Hard to stay up with double low post screens . Very good player and was utilized by Lancaster to almost perfection the first Quarter. Good luck to Lancaster rest of season . Go Chiefs!!!!!!

Re: Logan 2016-2017
Hope to see the Chiefs bounce back this week . No easy games . Heath tonight and Fairfield Union Friday .Logan did not play one of their better games at Lancaster . Took a real hit the first Quarter but regrouped and battled back . The Chiefs will get better . Stay focused ,play hard and play smart . I' ll be rooting for the Purple Gang . Go Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heath is a solid team. Wins at Columbus East, vs Mt Gilead, vs Northridge and at Newark Catholic.Losses to Granville and Highland. Sitting at 4-2. They have 3 players averaging double figures in points according to MaxPreps.

They like to shoot the 3 ball and can get on a run . Senior laden team I believe . Should be a good and entertaining game . Hope to see a big crowd. Go Purple Gang!!!!!!!
