Yeah, they are up by 16, but you hate to give a team that kind of momentum going into the half.

I know Wheelersburg won big last night, but don't know the exact score. I hate the Streaks season come to an end like that, but the Pirates were the better team. Good luck to them the rest of the way.

To the boys of Piketon, don't let the loss sour the season you had. Use this as motivation to build on for next year. But know that you have to work for and earn everything you want, noone is going to bend over backward and give it to you.

The final score was 70-35. This thread lost an entire page when the site crashed last night that had all the stats and some comments from people on it.

Big advantage and difference in the game was the offensive put backs by the Pirates. Many, many offensive boards turned into points. This along with 1st half turnovers killed Piketon last night. Piketon was much more agressive on the boards the 2nd half.

Until a team can take the rebounding advantage away from Wheelersburg, they will struggle to beat the Pirates.

Hats off to the Burg. I'm still not sure what kind of team they have because of how poorly Piketon played. Don't know if it was nerves or what but Piketon is a lot better team than the way they played last night. First time I've seen that team play. Once again Hats Off to Wheelersburg.

It did seem like Wheelersburg got every rebound in the first half. I also thought their defense was very solid. Piketon struggled to get any type of an offense going.

Looking forward to Saturday's game with Huntington.

Good solid game from the Pirates. Tyler Lang was very athletic defensively during the first quarter, and Dustin Cook was also his usual steady self. He played with composure and confidence. Good to see that! Spradlin only played a few minutes of the entire first half, due to foul trouble, and the Pirate team just kept the beat going. The Burg only broke down about the final three minutes of the second quarter by taking a few bad shots, allowing the Streaks to get close to getting back into the game. But, that didn't happen in the third quarter . For the game the Stegmans, both Matt and Andy, each had one of their best games of the year, and Matt Jenkins played steady, too. This game turned out to be a pretty easy win for the Pirates from the get-go, and Piketon just couldn't do much right at all. You could see the frustration in their actions while the burg cashed in with layup after layup. I didn't expect that. Nobody did. This game will probably be the last easy win for the Pirates, since the teams ahead will be much, much better.
I'd say Piketon probably didn't play their best ball, but that nasty Pirate defense can cause that. The Convo is also such a big place it can rattle the kids not used to being there. So, the Streaks can keep their heads up and work to get back to make it a different story the next year.

Joe, Wheelersburg has been doing that to teams for most of the season and especially the last 12 games or so. They can make a team that is usually very solid look horrible because of their excellent defense. Maybe Piketon did play very poorly, but I'm sure that stingy, lock down defense that this Burg team plays had a lot to do with it.

Your probably right but I still think Piketon didn't do themselves any favors by the way they played. Piketon had a nice season better than I expected. I would say they learned a lot from that experience of playing in the Convo against a very nice team.

Yeah, the picture quality was fine, but the announcers need to hone up on their skills a little. I don't know how many times they refered to Wheelersburg as Williamsburg and they kept refering to Drew Spradlin as Drew Spradling. They did do a good job of following the ball though.
