Actually Eastern is pretty bad. Miller out hustled them all over the floor. Beat them to every loose ball and Easterns big man looked to be a little soft. If he isn't a senior than he needs to work on the weights and on his power moves to the basket. Eastern seemed to be lacking in guard play also. One of the Officials doing the game also has done several State tournament games. Welcome to tournament officiating. It's not the same as being able to pick the officials that fit your game in the regular season.

I thought that Miller was a lot better, would get their 10 point plus lead, cruise a little, Eastern would hit a couple of shots, and then Miller would pull away. Miller has a nice balance of players.

i think that miller ended up winning by 8...

freethrow-you must not have been at the game Eastern played there hearts out. The officiating just flat out killed the Eagles. They just wouldnt cut this young ball club a break.

freethrow,

I didn't see the game to comment on the officiating, and never use it as an excuse anyway. However, you are wrong in assuming that Eastern, or anyone in the SOC, "picks" officials to fit their style of play. The SOC has a league assigner and schools have no input whatsoever in who officiates their games.

Also, both of Eastern's big guys are sophomores. They are a very young team with no seniors. This was essentially last years JV team. Only one player had any real varsity experience coming into the season.

I was at the game. Stop blaming the officials. It's been stated the your team is young. They need to learn come tournament time officials will let it play.

I also know the the league as an assigner. All schools get to submit a list of officials they approve of. The assigner does finally place the officials but we all know how the assigner thing goes. Look for the State to end the use of assigners in the future. To much of a buddy system with the coaches and the officials.

In the end the Eastern gets just showed their youth. They need to hit the weight room and learn from this tournament. It looks like the coach is very young also. He seemed to be very involved in the game. I did hear some fans(parents) in the crowd yelling instructions to certain players which over rides the coaches instructions.

Wow, someone needs a chill pill. You made the comment about the big man and whether he was a senior. I was just giving more info. You also made the accusation about picking officials and how tournaments are "not the same as being able to pick the officials that fit your game in the regular season." If you don't want people to respond to you comments, don't make them.

Not all of us are so enlightened about the "assigner thing". How does it go?

Also,
The Eagles coach last night was the JV coach. The varsity coach received two T's and an automatic ejection in the last game of the year.
