I don't think EB can guard the perimeter. Carter is the best guard in southern Ohio. The only one that can stop Carter is himself. He can take over a game anytime he wants.
Ironton should press more than what they have been. They can go about 10 deep in their line up. Good things always happen when they can speed up the tempo of the game.

Here's what I think - you can hear it here!
ALMOST GAME TIME
On the radio on WIRO 1230 AM
On the internet: http://www.foxsports1230.com/main.html
Click on LISTEN LIVE at the top left corner then the Fox Sports 1230 & 1420 logo.
However, if you are having problems connecting through that website, you can listen live at http://www.iheartradio.com/main.html. I find that Huntington, WV stations come up on my computer without putting in the 45638 ZIP code, but you might need to. Click on Fox Sports.

If Fletcher is 100%, the combination of him and Carter (not to mention White who is a beast) will be too much for EB. I think the Warriors will hang tough early, but the Tigers will pull away late to win by double-digits. I'm looking forward to watching this one, though, because EB has all the parts necessary to pull the upset.

Eastern can guard the perimeter better than any team in the southeast with the probable exception of Portsmouth. Good luck to the warriors.

I could see the too much size, but he would be hard to get much better in guard play than Payne and Lawson. 2 of the best players in the SHL.

EB cant guard the perimeter? You must not be real familair with Rob Beucler's coaching style. Defense and guarding the perimeter is the reason Eastern has been as good as they are. Eastern and Coach Beucler pride themselves in defense. They are one of the top teams in Southern Ohio in guarding the perimeter!
I would also put Lawson right up there with Carter, if not better. How many D-1 offers does Carter have?

not saying the Warriors will for sure win, but it won't be because they don't guard people!

......................and that my friends, is the UGLYTRUTH!!!!!

Actually these are opinions that are tossed around on this message board and I'm sure the perimeter needs to be guarded by looking at the teams you all play. With our size and strength I doubt we'll be outside the paint too much. And as for Carter....well, you'll see. Go Tigers!

Chase Lawson is a junior and he has a couple D1 offers. Carter might be the better player and Ironton the better team but people on here are out of their mind if they think that Eastern does not have a shot at upsetting the tigers.

THEY CAN'T OFFER ANYTHING AT THIS POINT. THEY MAY HAVE TALKED TO HIM BUT IT IS AGAINST NCAA RULES FOR THEM TO OFFER HIM ANYTHING AT THIS POINT.

The #1 seeded Warriors would be a tough hurdle for a healthy Ironton club. But this is not a healthy Ironton, with third leading scorer Dion Brown lost for the season after blowing out an ACL, and second leading scorer Trey Fletcher still hobbled by a high ankle sprain.

Fletch's inability to finish his dunk the other evening against Wellston shows how off his game he currently is, as Ironton fans are used to seeing some resounding ally-oop throw-downs from Carter to Fletch over the course of this season. I have to give Fletch props for just being out there and giving it his all despite being dinged. He is a kid with great character.

Meanwhile, Eastern Brown looked invincible the other night in throttling Southeastern. Chase Lawson played like a man among boys in leading his SHL juggernaut, and Lawson will be a very difficult matchup for any Ironton player. My guess is that Dion Brown would have drawn that assignment before his injury, but now who?

Coach Buecler has been banging on the door of the Schott since his last appearance in 2002. This year's club and seeding may have set him on a date with destiny again. You could see his guys playing the other night with the kind of swagger it takes to get to Columbus.

Ironton need contributions from unexpected souces to have a shot on Saturday; Eastern just needs to play its game. It should be a very entertaining match-up of players and coaches.

That is not an NCAA rule. Most schools offer in the May evaluation period after a recruits junior year of high school but there is no rules against early offers. Blake Justice, Chase Lawson, Jake Kretzer, Malik London, etc. all recieved offers before the start of their senior years.

Andrew Wiggins(sophomore) who plays for Huntington Prep has already recieved offers in one form or another from Florida State, Kentucky, North Carolina, and West Virginia.

CORRECTION THE THIRD LEADING SCORER IS TREVOR WHITE EVEN WITH 6 GAMES ON THE BENCH AND COMING OFF THE BENCH THE REST OF THE SEASON UNTIL DION WAS HURT. DION IS GOOD AND IS MISSED, BUT TREVOR HAS BEEN THE THIRD LEADING SCORER SINCE HE WAS UNLEASHED. CHECK THE STATS THEY ARE AVAILABLE ON ELITETRISTATESPORTS.COM. IRONTON IS MADE UP OF A TEAM OF PLAYERS NOT JUST 2. THEY HAVE SHOWN ALL SEASON LONG THAT THE OTHERS ARE MORE THAN CAPABLE OF STEPPING UP AND FILLING IN. YOU PEOPLE ARE ACTING LIKE WE ARE DOOMED TO LOSE JUST BECAUSE DION IS OUT AND TREY IS LESS THAN 100%

Personally I dont know if Carter has had any D-1 offers. there is possibility he has and not letting it out. Who knows, only Zac and his family.

The only destiny for EB is to get taken to the woodshed on Saturday night. They only hope that Fletcher is less than 100%. Even then they cannot handle Ironton. With or without Fletcher they are a very solid team. Just ask Fairland(they are in the District Championship in D2.) They couldn't handle Ironton without Fletcher or Dion..
Itown is battle tested. They play the toughest schedule in southern Ohio so they will be more than ready no matter who is in the lineup.
If EB played the schedule that Itown did this year they would be lucky to have a winning record.
