Nice win for the tigers, minford has a solid team and played hard and shot the ball really well, Waverly was to big, to athletic, dominated the boards, the younguns played well, as long as they know their roles and play within it should be a good yr.
Early foul trouble had Waverly on their heels in the first half, and Minford was busting the 3's number 5 for Minford can flat fill it up. Second half it was all tigers as they dominated inside and did a better job against the press, Martin is tough inside the paint, Kretzler and Remy shot the ball well for their first varsity game and they all played good D, Lundin is very solid and Roback was extremely strong on the boards and had several nice assists. Also the Blandford boy did an excellent job. For a young team showed signs of being a very good team and then would have their moments of youthfulness which is expected.
I think it was a very positive showing and they are going to be a matchup problem for teams in the Soc2, Minford is solid and will win their share of games also. Go tigers

Just for the record, it's Kretzer and Blanford.
Nice showing from the Tigers in their first game out. These young guys could be scary by the end of the year.

I'm sure they'll be shooting foul shots in the morning or whenever the shoot around is. Most of the misses came in the first half so hopefully it was just first game nerves. They did hit them down the stretch in the 4th quarter.

72-58

The little guys shooting the ball at half-time of the JV game was worth the price of admission. I was very impressed with Rheadon Remy, he played with poise and confidence. (Calm and cool, good court decisions) How many rebounds did he have? Roback played very hard also, numerous rebounds and got after it on defense. Martin is smooth.

I agree with you about those little kids. My prediction in about 12 years or so Waverly will have 3 very good basketball players.

Waverly showed me some good things vs. the Falcons......Martin is a nice player in the paint, and the Tigers have some athleticism on the perimeter........Coach Robertson has WHS headed in the right direction, and with a sophomore and freshman starting, Waverly should be competitive for quite a while.
