Kretzer had 12 in the first half and finished with 16. Burg double and triple teamed him in the 2nd half. Ward stepped up and had a good night. Not sure what his final stats were but I think he finished with around 10 points. White hit a triple and a couple FT's. Hart hit a three to round out the scoring.

Burg controlled the tempo although Waverly tried to push the tempo, maybe too much - making bad choices. Up 8-9 points midway through the fourth and throwing up bad threes. Work the clock and dont settle for anything other than a layup, Burg was not playing pressure defense.

First half fouls were 7-1 (Burg picked up their only foul of the half with under 30 seconds to go). Fouls were 8-2 in the 3rd and over 10 to 5 for the 2nd half, including OT. Waverly has to improve there.

The Tigers are happy to escape with the W after not playing very well.

Jake Kretzer is an absolute beast, but I think the star of tonight's show was Dylan Miller! He was giving up 4+ inches and at least 35 pounds, not to mention two years of varsity experience to the legit D-I commit and yet he did a heckuva job on him defensively and matched his offensive output. My hat goes off to coach Barrick and his kids for the type of game they were able to turn this into. They had a chance to win at the end and as a coach/player, you can't ask for much more.

I agree with the above post about both schools student sections. It reminded me of when I played 20+ years ago! It was a lot of fun as a spectator to see the kids from both schools get into the game. Best of luck to both teams as the season progresses.

game was like watching an injured animal die. slow and painful. kretzer nice player but waverly has not idea how to use him. i think trying to play the 1-5 position throughout the game never allows him to settle in. pick one and move on.
