Falcon Fury,
You are hilarious. You would be shocked to know who I am but I am not Eastern's coach. PM me your name and I will do the same and we can talk hoops at the Muletown Mini Mart whenever you like?

I seen where Fitch posted the other day where some Falcon Fans were bashing the Eagles for no reason whatsoever over rankings on this site which mean nothing. You can't do that and then not expect others to comment when you lose.

I have relation that has come through both schools is the only reason I follow the Falcons from afar, but I have seen a couple games this year. In past years, I have been bashed for supporting them on here....lol

My post was not critical at all I was just commenting on why some (never said me) believe the Falcons have underachieved. Some guys that I work with think that several area teams should be undefeated also. I actually agree with you that 13-4 is a good record and nthe SOC2 is very balanced. I wish the Falcons nothing but the best for the kids and community.

I think people just get too caught up, ofcourse with the great expectation and anticipation. Minford basketball has been down for a moment since the last trip to the convo with McGraw, Chilli and company. Also after around 2009 with Sean Smith and Aaron Prater's class. Minford has not won a district championship since arguably the best team in Minford history got it done in 1995. I heard this summer that people in the community were even comparing this squad to that 1994-1995 team. 13-4..good year, great year, the Falcons are a good basketball team. People just get to caught up, rather than enjoying the ride. Steve Yeagle isn't walking through that door.

It doesn't matter who you say you are really. I must have misunderstood your post. The Falcons have not underachieved at all. The league is very balanced and teams match up well with others.

Exactly NewEra.

That is my point. The pre-season hype coming out of Minford created the expectation that these Falcons were going to be unbeatable. So when the games are close or the Falcons lose one then you will get questions. But, 13-4 is a very good year thus far! I hope the Falcons make the Convo and win some games there.

The only reason it matters to me is you said that I was someone that I am not

I dont know who the third one was, but I have seen him several times and he is a j-o-k-e. Bill and the other guy need to find a new partner asap because that clown blows calls Stevie Wonder wouldnt miss every game I watch him ref.

Minford just gave up too many easy buckets last night. The open layup that Peake got at the end of the game was a back breaker. Missed foul shots haunted them too.
As an unbiased spectator last night, which calls did you feel were blown? Not at all trying to argue... I just thought the game was called pretty well.

And your 2nd paragraph is dead on.

There were several uncalled charges in the lane, and of those traveling violations could have easily been called. McCray got beat to death on many of his shot attempts and there were only a couple called. I think the buzzer beater (or nearly buzzer beater I should say) that McBee launched from Peake's 3 point line was pretty controversial. Minford people thought he got it off while I am sure Peake people thought he didnt.

Billy and the other ref did a good job. The other guy is a complete clown and a boob to boot. I have seen him several times (all with Minford on the winning end until last night) and this isnt the first time he has looked like deer in headlights.

I think McCray is so much bigger than most of the other kids they let them hang all over him when he gets the ball down low. If its a foul its a foul.

Bottom line is this team is far capable of taking the game out of the refs hands if they limit turnovers, make FT's and play at a up tempo pace. They didnt do that last night and unfortunately they let Peake hang around and win the game. I would love to see a rematch in the tournament.

BTW- we say you guys sitting on the Peake side. Were you scouting Peake for tournament time or wanting to see Minford again?

The 94-95 team was something special. They had role players on that team who went into the game and got it done. Shawn Sommer and Steve Yeagle were scoring machines. Strickland and Jesse were rebounding machines. I dont think its fair to compare that team with this year's team because they play so much different.

I really dont have a dog in the fight but I will offer my opinion from what I have seen. Minford is a talented, athletic team with a deeper bench than most schools. They have size and speed and can go inside or outside for points. The only problem I have seen from the Falcons in the few games I have seen them play is that they do not defend real well. They have the talent to play man but seem to stay zone most of the game. Once in awhile the defenders will double the ball. My biggest concern come tournament time would be if they had to go man for an extended period of time. Best of luck to the Falcons.

We try to see as many teams as we can, especially if we feel we could end up seeing them down the road. Obviously there is a possibility that we see Peake in a few weeks, so this was a good time to take a look.

How am I bashing I said you were going to win the league if that's bashing there's about 6-7 other SOC teams that would love to get bashed that way. I think your a little paranoid Falcon. Minford is a good team one off many good teams in southern Ohio I hope they win state in D-3.

The Falcons have lost games that they shoulda or coulda won but that is part of the game. Minford has a very good group of athletes and many times are the better players than the other team players but even the best players have shooting slumps or bad games. Hopefully it all comes together from coaching, players, offense an defense style before tornaments because when there on they can play wih anybody.
As for lastnights it was good for the Falcons they met a very good physical team that jumped on them an Minford hasn't seen that an Mcbee had to sit because of fouls, McCray was getting mugged every play being doubled teamed which wears a player down and during warm ups it looked like Stapleton was fighting leg cramps with all that the falcons hung in there. Regardless, play your guts out, play physical, play up tempo every minute and who cares who scoring or made the last turnover. GOOD LUCK FALCONS
