Re: Valley V. West @ Jackson 2/23
Travis gets shoved down in the corner and they called him for a travel.

Sometimes they are pretty rough coach.

West fouling...
Gotta hit the FTs for the Convo.
:21 to go..
63-61....ROLFE shooting....
FT's good...
65-62 Valley after a West FT.
5 seconds to go..Valley up 3 with the ball. 1 FT will seal the CONVO.

These officials absolutely choked in OT. When it came to making important calls, they blew everyone of them.
Re: Valley V. West @ Jackson 2/23
This has been a great season matchup..
West won by 2
Valley won by 2
3rd game to OT.
CRAZY.
Rolfe at the line with 4.4 seconds....1 SHOULD seal it...

Big win for Valley...game against Piketon should be the best matchup of day next Saturday at Convo.*
Re: Valley V. West @ Jackson 2/23
Valley should've won in regulation, but two missed calls by the refs turned into a 5-point swing. I'm not the kind to go out and blame the refs for every foul my team commits, but when you have to guys tackling a player on the court, you just can't call traveling. Dumb call.

Congrats to Valley on a very good win.
West had a fantastic year. This lose will hurt but the Siders are definitely making improvements on the court and headed in the right direction.
The Valley/Piketon matchup should be a dandy.

One ref is one of the top referees around (the only one I've found out that did the game)....but I did see him struggle this year...but in a girl's game
Re: Valley V. West @ Jackson 2/23
Just found out another ref.....he used to be one of the best around...but my contact said he was not good tonight
Re: Valley V. West @ Jackson 2/23
Okay, now that I have time to explain..
J.B. Travis was in the corner on a throw-in with a 61-60 lead for West and around 2:00 left. Two Valley defenders reached for the ball and shoved him to the ground. Instead of making the obvious call, Travis was whistled for traveling. This, in turn, led to a Valley 3-pointer. Instead of a potential 3 or 4 point lead for West, it is a 2 point lead for Valley; a 5-6 point turnaround. Later on, a defender from Valley strips the ball from Bricker and knocks it out of bounds, only to have possession awarded back to Valley. I wouldn't complain if these calls weren't so obvious. I understand that it is tough to be an official and there is a lot of pressure on them, but both of those calls should have been routine.
I'm not gonna say either of these calls were the game-changer, but you just can't have blatantly missed calls in overtime in a game of such importance. I wanted to see the game go to the wire.
I must also say that I saw three missed calls on the same play earlier in the game. Bricker received the inbound, and was immediately slapped on the wrist. No call. He then proceeds to dribble, stop, look for a pass, and dribble again. An easy double-dribble call. Yet again, nothing. Then, Valley steals the ball, loses control, and throws it out. Possession arrow - Valley.

Biggest problem with refs in tourney, they are old and out of shape! Their bodies don't move like they use to! Out of position. Every yr, same refs. But because they have been around they get most of tourney games!!!
