Dang, hope he’s ok. Ankle?smurray wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2019 11:33 pm Waverly can’t catch a break while trying to survive til they get some players healed up and back. Robertson was injured in practice yesterday and while he tried to play tonight was in excruciating pain just couldn’t make a difference. He sat the entire second quarter and probably shouldn’t have played at all in the second half.
Robertson was unable to play the point and only tried to drive the lane a handful of times, which is where he has picked up 90% of his points and if he’s not scoring himself in the lane he’s dishing off to a big once the defense collapses on him.
Hopefully with a week off before the Holiday Classic they can figure out the extent of his injury and get him somewhat healed up.

We’re 5-7 games in for most leagues. I know Waverly has had some bad luck but you have to question whether this is just who they are? Everyone is gonna be banged up at some point. Hines ended the game with 19 pts. he had 4pts at the half, had 3 three's and 11 pts in the 3rd Qtr. he had 4 pts in the 4th Qtr and would have probably ended with 23-24 pts if he would have made some of his 2nd half free throws. As smurry said, not the typical Robertson, started the game but out I think mayby the whole 2nd Qtr. I didn't know that he was hurt but know that his shots were not falling.
Re: 12/20-Oak Hill at Waverly
I don't really know what the injury is either. If smurry says he hurt, I'm sure he is probably hurt. He was shooting 3's, they were just not falling. He drove to the basket at one point in the 4th Qtr and made an unbelievable shot and was fouled completing a 3 point play to get the margin from 9 pts down to 6 pts. OH knows all about only scoring a few points in a Quarter, as they only were able to score 2pts in the 4Qtr against the Burg a few days ago after leading by 9 points at the end of the 3rd. Neither team shot the ball very well in the first half, Waverly with the size advantage seemed at times to be dominating the boards. Hope that Robertson gets over his injury, he's a very nice kid and an excellent ballplayer.Ironman92 wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2019 11:36 pmDang, hope he’s ok. Re: 12/20-Oak Hill at Waverly
You are right that Waverly is a year away. They are very young and the best is yet to come with this group. But I don't believe this is just who they are. Tuesday was the first game they have played that they have actually got to practice before hand with who they will have going forward. They handled minford nicely and showed what they can be. Minford went to OT with oak hill I believe. Not having Trey is just a huge loss for them. He's averaging about 26 ppg, the primary ball handler, and is at the center of all that the Tigers do offensively. If he's healthy and full go, I believe Waverly wins. So we'll see going forward how things shake out.mlittle wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2019 11:42 pmWe’re 5-7 games in for most leagues. Re: 12/20-Oak Hill at Waverly
Tough loss for the Tigers. They know this was a game they could've and should've won. Great game plan by Travis and his staff. If Trey is full go, this one might've went a little different. He was just way too limited and almost non existent. He's a tough kid and all he wants to do is win, but I know looking back now Travis wishes he would've just let him sit this one out. The other boys should've stepped up more knowing Trey was limited. And I believe they did in the entire second quarter when he sat out, they were able to come back and tie it before half. But they let Trey try to go the whole second half, and that was the mistake. When he is on the floor the other players look to him to create, so I think they were still leaning on him too much. The best option would've been to just let Trey call it a night and not let the other guys have the opportunity to rely on him when he just can't do much. But hindsight is always 20/20 and it still could've been the same result. Hopefully he gets some rest this week and is able to go fully come Friday.

Yea, I think they’re a solid team and maybe the inconsistency has been due to some bad luck with injuries. I think Trey’s junior year Waverly will be really good. Hopefully the numbers jump back up for the program as well. Good luck to you guys rest of the season.MasterOfNone wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2019 8:32 amYou are right that Waverly is a year away. The Hines kid has Waverly roots. I believe his grandpa lives in Dailyville.

Real good athlete that we’ve been crossing paths with for a long time. He was easily the best baseball player on OH in 5th and 6th grade, faced him in jr high, ran against him this year in XC and with no experience he was tops for OH, natural athlete was obviously big for the basketball team and funny enough I just posted a retro video on twitter of a jr high 100m dash with my son and mlittle’s and the 3rd kid in the video right on them both....the Hines kid.Sports-nut wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2019 10:31 am The Hines kid has Waverly roots. So Robertson injured? Played in the 1st, 3rd and 4th quarters and were out scored in each quarter and badly in 2nd half. Sat out 2nd quarter and Waverly won the quarter?
Banged up wrist I’ll guess since he had trouble shooting according to many posts. Surprised of this result after they mashed Minford.

Re: 12/20-Oak Hill at Waverly
You've got to give Robertson credit; he's a competitor and a tough kid. He wanted to play and he wanted to win. He was just in too much pain which was obvious watching him go to the locker room a couple times during the game.
Waverly proved at Minford they're capable as a team to play at a high level. Smallwood, Brown, Futhey all played well. But let's be honest, it goes through Robertson. If he can come back healthy at some point we'll be a handful for most teams.
And if Stulley can come back in a month or so we'll be even better. We're just going to have to stay positive, keep grinding and take one game at a time. With the current situation there's not an easy game on our schedule.

No not wrist. Waverly folks know, that’s good enough. In hind sight he should have sat the game. Travis said so on the air after the game. When he is on the floor the team looks to him to score and create and he wasnt physically unable.Ed Ott wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2019 11:28 am So Robertson injured?
