... gotcha !!! I misunderstood what mattash posted to me - I thought THAT the "they lost by 2" was the 3rd game - I edited the ranking record for the Trojans - hoping I can change it again this time with an added "W" ! LOL ...

pfloyd: My Trojans are now 3-6 officially after losing their final game in the KSA tournament.......I was told the score was 73-53. Don't have info on who the opponent was. One positive note was that Matthew Fraulini was named the MVP of the tournament (8 team bracket). Portsmouth finishes its 4th year in the KSA with an overall record of 8-4.

Hopefully going forward this Florida experience will help the Trojans in OVC play. I think it's a great thing that Coach Collins takes the team to Florida.....this year it cost $32,000 to go.......and he did the fundraising for it. A ton of work goes into making this happen.

I’m just happy my 2-7 has been beat by mostly top 20 teams so far and not teams on the end table

Yep. They were up 54-37 with a minute to go. Sounds like Adena got a couple cheap ones in late and LE controlled the game from the tip.

I will add that this year is the first year that he took the JV team along with them To Florida the Visited Universal studios yesterday and for the last night the are at the Orlando Magic game , what I love about this trip that coach Collin's likes to do every two years is there is kids that may never get to travel and experience things like this , I know the kids want to win every game but to me this is just a bonding thing and shows that coach Collins really cares for the kids ,not many would do all this work and time and take the responsibility to take all these kids on trips like this on a reguo basis.

The kids of Portsmouth high school are lucky to have coach Collins.

How is Caleb Wallis for tomorrow's match-up with Minford ? (the Burg moved up in the rankings with their 2 point W over Jackson - with that game being a b2b for Jackson [the first a physical matchup with U the night before] I didn't move the Pirates over a 'peake team who went North to win a couple of games - I watched the Panthers on a live stream vs Toronto 73-50 good guys - have seen Fairland on tape 4-5 of their games, have their W over Bishop Watterson to watch yet tonight - very good ball club that Coach Speed has in Proctorville ... I'll see Eastern Brown live at the Beasts of the Southeast on the 11th ... New Boston will be tasked this week with b2b games - a good St. Joseph ball club Friday night then on the road at Peebles Saturday- I'll be on hand for that one this Saturday ...)
He’s tough. I assume he’s good to go. I was worried about him vs Burg as he was definitely affected the last few min vs Unioto. He was incredible vs Burg for 2 4/5 quarters (25 points in 23 min and then it got him again and wasn’t able to penetrate for pretty much the rest of the game. I’ll guess ice baths and some rounds of Ibuprofen and guessing he’ll be a blur on the court against Minford, hopefully for the entire game.
... tough 4 day stretch for the Ironmen ! CW is one of those kids that I admire every game I watch him from the Cheap Seats - he IS talented! has "developed" his game EVERY year he has played high school ball ... he gives 100% EVERY play not just every game , he makes TEAM - every player on his TEAM better by getting them the ball where they can be most effective ... I totally get that it is every person's opinion as to who is the best PG, shooting guard, forward, post player etc. with Caleb Wallis I have NEVER left a game that I have watched him play in his entire high school career that I haven't left NOT believing that CW was the best PG in the game I just watched ... others? I have seen "good parts" they have for being a pg but they don't show me the whole package ... Caleb Wallis is the standard by which I compare ALL other PG in every game I watch ... love watching the young man play the game ...
I would take this kid as my point/lead guard over anyone I have seen this year in the SVC...and it’s not close. He is a leader in every way you can ask for, is developed each year. My new favorite player to watch in the area.

I said earlier in the year he would probably be the best player we played against this year. I’m a huge CW fan. Can’t be stated enough how awesome of a kid he is either. Rio Grande is getting a good one

... mlittle, Caleb Wallis imo checks off ALL of the boxes in what a TEAM wants/needs in a PG - scores the ball from inside/outside, the handles to get into the paint, distributes the ball, gets the TEAM involved offensively, defensively - he PLAYS defense as well as anyone , any size ... a PG in my book can SET the tempo of the game, can CHANGE the tempo of a game ... the leadership on the court to make every member of the TEAM better, a player has the respect of TEAM that he has earned by his example on/off the court ... imo Caleb Wallis is the "standard" to compare all other PGs against ... and THAT is only ON the court ... my understanding is that when news of Seth Dennis' horrific accident just prior to the start of the season came out Caleb was one of the first to reach out to Seth personally - imo THAT shows the character of this young man ...

... I have only shook hands with Caleb's dad once - as the whole Jackson team shook my hand last March before they played at the Convo ( I was getting ready to go to the James for CT scans to monitor my battle with cancer) - Mr. Wallis & the TEAM, coaches, Dan Morrow from the Jackson radio all wished me the best ... I have to agree the Wallis' MUST be great people, and I have a whole lot of respect for the Jackson community/basketball program under Coach Max Morrow ... must be something good in the water down in/around Apple Capital of Ohio ! ...

No way New Boston is 9th best team in Southeast. They are a good team in DIV 4 and will end up with a good record due to schedule but they aren't an elite top 10 team in Southeast...I'd put them 22 at best at this point in season. Several teams ranked lower are better athletically and team ball wise. Just my opinion from watching them....

... and THAT'S why we play the games ... the Tigers will be taking on St. Joseph on Friday and on the road at Peebles Saturday night ... teams get to earn their rankings on the court ...

I’ve talked to Cox personally and according to him, no one wants to schedule up with NB. So kudos to Peebles.
