Burg won 67-61 in 2 OT's.

Neither team hit free throw's very well. Burg finally hit some big ones late in the 2nd OT.

Burg now moves on to play Peebles in the district semi-finals at the Convo.

Should be a great game, im definately looking forward to it. Anyone know the last time Peebles played the burg in basketball?

Great game tonight by both teams!! If I understood Coach Barrick correctly, in his 17 years coaching at Burg, every varsity player has gotten the chance to play at the Convo. Shank was the only player not to get that chance, but he will next week (they lost in the sectionals his soph yr and he was hurt last year). I thought that was pretty impressive.

Was that actually the elementary principal that was tossed out of the game tonight?

Making it to convo out of the southeast is nothing to brag about what you have to win 1 tourney game.

Great ballgame... Amazing effort by both sides! Very pleased with how the Valley boys played tonight in the underdog role. Hats off to Burg and Coach Barrick on their sectional win. Thrilled that I was able to be a part of that one... Good Luck against Peebles next weekend.

I think it's very impressive. I wonder how many other schools that had the chance to advance to the convo can say that every kid that played varsity played at the convo during his career in the last 17 yrs. In the last 17 yrs it hasn't always been win one and go to convo. If I remember right there have been instances when the burg has had to play 2-3 games to go to the convo.

i guess if you come on the losing end then it is nothing to brag about. however, i am sure the tune would change when your team makes it. i am thinking valley thinks its a big deal given the fact their basketball team is now going home after school and not to practice.

Enjoyed watching the game Friday night very much. It was a hard fought game throughout. Burg looked like they had the game under control when they took an 11 point lead with 5 minutes and change to go in the game, but give Valley credit for making some big plays. Congrats to the Pirates on the win. I also want to congratulate Coach V., his staff and players on the way they played Friday night. Special congrats to all the departing seniors on the Valley team.
