I thought their were some calls both ways that werent great, but I don't think it decided anything. The 3 tonight were 3 that are normally 3 of the better around and I don't think any of them or old or out of
shape. I assume I can post their names, but if I can't would a mod please delete them. The crew was Micheal, Darrow, and Phipps.

Yeah.....not shady refs. They are all going to miss calls and even have bad nights.....but I trust all 3 to call to the best of their abilities....I can't say that about some.

He wasn't touched, he lost his balance. Valley fans could easily be upset about how the calls towards Dunn went or say that West was called back into the game. It really goes to show how each side sees the game.Buckeye24 wrote:Okay, now that I have time to explain..
J.B. Travis was in the corner on a throw-in with a 61-60 lead for West and around 2:00 left. Two Valley defenders reached for the ball and shoved him to the ground. Instead of making the obvious call, Travis was whistled for traveling. This, in turn, led to a Valley 3-pointer. Instead of a potential 3 or 4 point lead for West, it is a 2 point lead for Valley; a 5-6 point turnaround. Later on, a defender from Valley strips the ball from Bricker and knocks it out of bounds, only to have possession awarded back to Valley. I wouldn't complain if these calls weren't so obvious. I understand that it is tough to be an official and there is a lot of pressure on them, but both of those calls should have been routine.
I'm not gonna say either of these calls were the game-changer, but you just can't have blatantly missed calls in overtime in a game of such importance. I wanted to see the game go to the wire.
I must also say that I saw three missed calls on the same play earlier in the game. Bricker received the inbound, and was immediately slapped on the wrist. No call. He then proceeds to dribble, stop, look for a pass, and dribble again. An easy double-dribble call. Yet again, nothing. Then, Valley steals the ball, loses control, and throws it out. Possession arrow - Valley.

This was a great game. both teams played their hardest and showed they are both teams who need to be respected.
There are several different things that could have happened. One was that West could have called a timeout when Travis was in trouble in the corner, but they chose not to. That is fine, I agree with saving the time out for a end of the game scenario.
Congrats to West and Coach Bradford on a good season, I really enjoyed watching them play this year.
Congrats to Valley on making the Covo. I think they will represent the conference well.

Very hard fought game and clutch shooting by both teams ...what dramatic improvment in the senators program from last yr ...last yr i saw a haphazard, foul prone team cant say that now ...congrats on buying into what coach is saying ...i thought valley had it wrapped up when they were up i believe 8 and then we lost frye in transtion and he hit the 3 and had not shot much if any all night and cut it to 5 again... Big shot and lots of time left ...i knew then another dogfight ...as far as refs not bad ...as stated earlier couple of goofy one both ways ....
Here is what i would like to see valley boys do ...i love them all ... But lets concentrate on making the layup... not on when and if your going to be fouled .... Make the shot ..dont worry about how pretty it will look ... Go up balanced and strong and put it in the white square
And maybe we could have fouled davis in regulation while he was dribbling up court and made him earn it at the line instead of letting him fire the tying 3 ...but thats alot to think of with the clock ticking and there was a hand in his face ... Another big shot in crunch time

I don't have a dog in this fight and I watched this play right in front of me..In my opinion he just fell down, therefore I think the correct call was made. There were some calls missed just like every game but officials did not decide game..Great game between 2 very good teams! Congrats to the Indians! Also, Coach Bradford has West turned around and they had a nice season.
