Warren at Portsmouth Friday 1/24

The Portsmouth vs. Warren series continued a pattern that has lasted for 5 years. The Warriors are 4-1 at PHS during this time, while the Trojans are 3-2 at WHS. 4 times in the last 5 years the two teams have split the season series, with Warren sweeping Portsmouth last year. A very good rivalry has developed between these two schools. Unfortunately, it will last only 1 more year with the Trojans moving to the OVC after next season, although PHS will play both an SEOAL and OVC schedule in 2014-2015.

The 11-2 start for the Trojans proved to be tough to overcome, as they played from behind all night. Ironically, Portsmouth trailed 11-2 after the first quarter in the 2012 D3 state championship game vs. Cincinnati Summit Country Day. PHS just couldn't rally in that game either, as the Silver Knights won the state title with a 53-37 win.
