Who's fault is it then if not the coaches? one or two losing seasons could be the personnel he has to work with. Four or five, well it is time to look at what's going on. When I coached (yes at the biddy ball level), If we won, then it was the players fault, because they listened and executed what I had asked. And we won most games over the years. If we lost then it was my fault, either because of poor decisions or not being able to get the kids to listen and execute, or maybe just because I didnt have the kids prepared. It was never the other teams fault we lost or the officials or the kids. It was always mine. Keith doenst have to make excuses as to why they have had poor seasons, all of you guys are doing it for him.

If this is true I expect to hear that you have sent in your resume! Don't let us down! You have set up in the stands and complained and cried about the situation, now lets see you in action. Show us all how to run a program. Show us how easy it is to win with average talent at best. I for one hope you get the job. In fact, if you have the guts to come out from behind "moonschein" and tell us your real name I will call Robison and Janey and recommend you for the job. If you are too scared send it to me in a privatge message. I think most of us know what will happen here. You will NOT apply. You stay hidden and continue to sit up in the stands and plan how you and your followers can get the next coach out!

If you do not know the identity of moonschein how can you say he hides in the stands? From what some are saying on here, crediting moonshein with the firing of the coach, he must be a really powerful person in the community? Instead of bashing moonshein, you people should be looking for a way to attract a quality head coach. Bashing fans on here is no way to do that IMO.

I dont pretend to know everything being an outsider. I just happen to like Keith, thats all. Expectations can be unrealistic at times, maybe that is or is not the case. I hope it works out the best for all. Peace out

Keith is the head teacher of the alternative school, not sure if thats his official title or not. I also am not sure that is what he is doing this year. Does anyone know for certain if the head coach of a sport IN LOGAN, has to be a teacher or not? I know this was mentioned earlier, but I am looking for a FACT.

No, a head coach does not have to be a teacher, but Logan has been lucky enough that it has been. They like it that way and it makes sense if there is someone qualified. I think the bowling coach wasn't a teacher, and they had hired a volleyball coach that wasn't but she resigned before the season started. I know that isn't boys basketball. In fact, the Sup. Stirn said in the paper that they may have to hire someone who is not a teacher here, or not at all. I will say this, Pat Walsh will NOT be the next boys coach, because he is too excited about being the girls coach. I know there have been some predictions made, but it will not happen. It probably would be his job if he wanted it because he is a very good coach, regardless of who is father is or what some of you may think. He spends a great deal of time on his program, and has a great group of kids coming back and even more in the lower grades on the way. So, with that out of the way, who will it be? Good question. I do not have any guesses.

I hate to think you fire a coach and without a viable plan to replace them...starting to sound that way especially if no teaching positions are available...maybe we should be questioning the administrations decision making...i guess time will tell. I have also heard Walsh has zero interest in the job. I guess the question is what if Stirn wants him to take the job...will he be able to tell him no?

I find a lot of this to be very sad, really a microcosim of life in a small town. The way people have gone after a coach, especially with zero coaching experience of their own, is just not right. At the end of the day these are just games, played by kids....

Eaglesrock raised a very good point...why not fire all the coaches that aren't winning? How many league titles has the girls track team won? How many district titles? When was the last time they had an athlete in the state track meet? Sounds to me like the coach isn't doing very good job of developing talent. What about baseball? Softball? What happens if coach Wolfe gets off to a slow start and has a few sub .500 seasons? Do you fire him? How many years does he get? People lose sight of the fact that it is very difficult to sustain a program over the years...In fact, the only team that has been consistently strong year in and year out is the boys track team. Football has had down years...check out Amyx's W/L record in the early part of his career....Saddens me that we let personal feelings get in the way...like I stated earlier, these are just games played by kids.

Again, what's done is done. I agree Walsh is a really good coach. But isn't he the D-coordinator on the football staff now? That takes a lot of time in itself. I am sure there is someone who wants this job.

maybe they haven't given a good price/dollar amount on the job yet. or a good enough one pull a good coach from they're current position. all 3 coachs names that have been toasted around already have very strengh ties to LOGAN. friends, family etc.... so a re-adjustment to life in LOGAN should be that big of an issue.

This is incorrect. The alternative school was moved to the high school this year. Keith is now health and pe teacher.

Coaching jobs aren't typically negotiable when it comes to salary...at least at Logan i believe you get a % of your salary if you are a teacher...its the same for all head coaches, regardless of sport...so it isn't like the can go offer stiverson 50k to become head basketball coach
