You know what is very refreshing about a game such as this game, a very intense competitive game right down to the final horn, to be able to say that both teams left it all on the floor win or lose, and then not have to hear complaining about the officials, or even worse talking about how bad the coaches really are, or even worse than that, demeaning the players by naming them by name, because we are the experts and are always right about everything that we say. I probably should stop about now, so that I don't say something that I shouldn't.

I agree VetteMan, Two teams battling it out for 32 minutes, neither up by more than 8 at any one time, both counter punching the whole way. Both teams fought and left it all on the floor and total respect for each other. I’m not saying it didn’t happen, but I didn’t see any jawing or taunting or anything like that. The handshake line afterwards was nothing but genuine respect for the opponent and good to see a nice extended embrace between Robertson and Persin (possibly their last game coaching against each other). The way a High School game should be.

I also noticed Robertson and Persin after the game, as you pointed out it was probably the last time that they will ever coach against each other.

Aww yes. Two well spoken, well behaved teams giving it the old college try. I’ve never heard one cross word come out of norms vocabulary. He’s always respectful to the other coaches and super nice to the referees. Even when he doesn’t agree with the official call, he’s quick to say, that’s ok. Give me a break.

Don’t worry the Thugs from burg will be there Friday and you can legitimately call them out instead of using innuendo to do so.

Do they teach about respecting your elders at Burg? Ask your teachers on Monday. Yeah Norm can be a fireball on the court but as a coach respect is mutual. If it was Ater or Barrick or Cox or Cole or Shoemaker or Fitch or LaFon etc and so on and so forth the same respect would happen. Still mad Waverly got the dub in the Pirates house

Lol. Norm can cuss on the bench, berate refs on the court and in the locker room and he’s just an old fireball but a couple of burg kids talk trash on the court and they are disrespectful entitled kids.

Exactly. So why make a post to point out how well the team’s acted? Who specifically says that? It was a jab. As usual.

Probably should be asking yourself the same thing for every time you feel the need to interject Burg into every conversation like people actually care. I mean you complain on one hand and do the same with the other.

Sorry but this was about Oak Hill and Waverly with absolutely NO THOUGHT of your Pirates.
No mention of them or a remote thought of them on here..... sorry, but no jab...

I’m not your average poster. I’m smart enough to recognize the innuendo that was interjected and for the intended purpose. Trying to hide it or denying it only makes my argument stronger.

You’re right you’re not the average poster. You’re much softer than everyone here and apparently very jaded. Grab a dictionary and look that one up. The only person who said anything about Wheelersburg was you. I can assure you since 2007 there’s been plenty of heated battles between the oakies and Waverly that had nothing to do with Burg. You probably aren’t old enough to remember any of them though. Your coach is cut from the same exact cloth from his Chesapeake days so in a way your team is very Norm influenced as well.

As far as you being an average poster on here, I would most certainly agree with you on that, mainly because most of the time it seems as if you feel the need to have to defend the Burg in one way or the other. I really do not believe that the Burg was even mentioned in this topic. At first I wasn't sure whether you were upset with Waverly or Oak Hill, or possibly both. The more that you post it is becoming very apparent that you either hate or are obsessed with Norm Persin the Oak Hill coach, why I have no idea ? I'm hope that you are not just an unhappy person at times, but other times it's really hard to tell.

You’re right burg wasn’t specifically called out but I’m pretty sure I made that clear in my first response. My norm persin comment was to point to the hypocrisy in it all. I’m a burg fan, of course I’ll defend burg, but at least acknowledge that fans of other teams have an obsession of calling out burg flaws or any other items they can sink their teeth into. Just look at swankier pines signature. “Burg on upset alert.” It’s pretty well documented at this point intended or insinuated.

As I have said before, I have relatives that live in Wheelersburg that are pretty big Burg fans in not only basketball but about every other sport as well. Being that I don't live that close to the Burg, I usually only attend games that really interest me. I go to a lot of Jackson, Oak Hill, Vinton County, Waverly, and even some games in Ross County. There's nothing wrong in being loyal to your school, witch I know that you are. There are other fans of other schools ( Peebles, South Webster, Jackson, Unioto, Waverly ) that are just as loyal to there schools as well. There's a lot of back and forth as well as a lot of kidding that goes on at different times on this site. That's what makes this site a lot of fun 90% of the time. Being that the Burg is so successful 95% of the time, I know that at times there are people that do throw digs at the Burg from time to time, but it also happens to Athens, Ironton, Jackson, New Boston as well as a lot of other schools. If we give an opinion or express our views on certain topics on this site, there are always going to be opposite reactions from different people. Maybe at times we should all just be a little more thoughtful in how we respond, and try not to be negative at times towards other people ?
