Eastern outplayed Ironton for most of the game they just couldn't stop Carter. He was amazing from the free throw line.

Game of the night. Mr Electricity Zac Carter was clutch in the second half. First time I've seen Ironton play this season and IMO Carter is the best PG in the south

Eastern Brown 61
Ironton 66 a final OT
... in the 2nd game of D3 District play Ironton SURVIVED the challenge put down by the Eastern Brown Warriors of Coach Beucler to move on to Regional play ... EB led for the biggest part of the game doing what most would say was impossible - beating the Ironton team on the boards ... outstanding scrappy game played by the team from the West side of Rte 23 ... EB was led by balanced scoring in period one as Jordan Payne (2)/Conner Purdin (4)/Nathan Scott(2)/Blake Doss(3) ...absent from the offensive equation was Chase Lawson as I'town's Josh Glover lived up to his name as he was draped all over #23 "like a glove" for not only that first period but for the biggest part of the entire game : Lawson (0) in the first ... Eastern Brown 11 Ironton 7 after one ... "round 2" was just as stingy defensively as the first - Ironton took RD 2 on the score card 11-8 ... after IHS BIG Man inside Trey Fletcher picked up his second foul - Trevor White picked up the board slack and putdown 4 points as well to draw the Fighting Tigers to within one at intermission Eastern Brown 19 Ironton 18 at intermission ... RD 3 turned into a battle of Ironton's Trio of Carter(5)/Fletcher(7)/White(6) vs Eastern Brown's "TEAM" of scorers Lawson(5)/Purdin(4)/Scott(6)/Doss(3)/Boudreau(2) ... EB continued to attack the boards keeping the rebounding edge for "most" of the period ... with the rebound edge came the scoring edge as well Eastern Brown 39 Ironton 36 after three rounds ... IF you have followed Ironton hoops for the last 3 seasons you KNOW that at some point in the game it becomes "Carter Time" Rd 4 became Zac Carter Time as the IHS point guard took over on the offensive end - keeping the ball in his hands, using his quickness to get into the paint, get to the line - with the ball in Carter's hands Ironton forged a 44-44 time at the 4:09 mark of the 4th ... with the ball in Carter's hands getting into the paint AND getting to the line someone on the EB roster paid the price - Conner Purdin picked up the fouls for EB trying to control the Carter attack - Purdin fouled out with 1:34 left in the game Carter connected on 2 FTs - Ironton 50 EB 46 ... 1:34 left to play ... on the other side of the court IF you know anything about the Eastern Brown Warriors - they play with the same "demeanor" as their coach - Coach Beucler ... there is NO quit in either one -TEAM or Coach ... Chase Lawson for EB put the Warriors on HIS shoulders - put the ball on the floor/got to the line (6/8 from the line in the 4th) ... scrappy defensive pressure/no quit attitude/drive to the rim with :20 on the clock for the 53-53 tie <= Eastern Brown basketball ... Eastern Brown 53 Ironton 53 end of regulation ... an extra period of action was time for Ironton's Zac Carter to show why he IS the premier PG in Southern Ohio ... "I'm going to the rim until you show you can stop me" - Carter went 8/8 from the line in OT ... EB had no answer although 2 triples in the OT (Lawson/Doss) kept things interesting - the Fighting Tigers EARNED their trip to regional action ... Ironton 66 Eastern Brown 61 OT a final ...
