Awesome win for the Oaks today. You want to see some comedy, go over to the Huddle and look at the belly-aching from the Ada fans. I don't care what they say, the Oaks controlled that game from start to finish. It's great to see southeastern Ohio basketball being represented so well.

Way to go Oaks!

The keys to this game were the second quarter in which Oaks outscored Ada 14-4.

Ada, from the 6 minutes mark of the second quarter and into the third quarter, went nine minutes without a point and Oak Hill held a 27-13 lead the next thing you know.

The Oaks' offense was started by its defense, especially in the 2nd quarter. It was all about defense, defense, defense.

Ada was only 4-of-18 from three-point land, with all four coming in the fourth when they were behind.

And Oak Hill made free throws down the stretch. Kyle Ondera himself was 9-of-11 for the day.

Cody Cannon came up with 11 points all in the fourth quarter. None of us can remember when he has scored 11 points in a game. But came up big in scoring, shooting free throws and rebounding with J.D. in foul trouble.

Coach Persin was indeed happy in that press conference afterward and Kyle, Ryan Borden and J.D. Hale did a nice job of answering questions in front of the statewide media.

Congratulations to the Oaks and see you in the Schott on Saturday for the state championship!

P.S. JJHale....Nice talking to you up there today along press row. Looks like you got that laptop to work up there. Sometimes the wireless Internet can be an issue.
