Yes he did, or is going to. My husband knows him and talked to him last night. I guess they will be looking for a new coach.

I hate to see Bellville go and I know the boys feel the same. This came as a surprise to some. I wish him well in his future. He is a good coach and a good person.

I heard another name come up for the Fairland job. He was one of the better players ever to come out of Fairland and was on the last Regional team when they were Div. II. He has been coaching Div I miamisburg. Very smart young man that would be an asset to any program......

I know Mike Black really well....He coached 8th grade this season but was the Varsity Assistant the previous season. Mike is a very intelligent BK player and teacher. He would be an asset to any program especially Fairlands....thats where his heart is at!!!!!

I for one think that the 8th grade coach Bucannon should be given a shot at the varsity job

Coach Buchannon would be a great replacement-he led these boys to an undefeated year their 8th grade year. Also look how he's built up the track and cross country teams. Kids respond to him well and he's definately energetic enough for the challenge!

Both candidates would be good for the job. Mike is a science teacher and I know they are needed. He is bright, over 30, and energetic. He is a church youth leader in Dayton. He is married and has 3 children. He has been a Varsity assistant at a DIV I school. He almost got the job last season until someone at the last minute jumped him with seniority. He then applied for their 8th grade job and took it. He was one of the better players to come out of Fairland and yes was on the last regional team. (they also were div II then) This young Christian would be an awesome replacement. I know the old coach would recommend him for the job....Just ask him..I dont think Lafon is going no anywhere.

he was the girls coach. he did not get fired for anything that i am aware of. he simply resigned i think. he did do well while coaching the girls. if i am not mistaken, he currently is the 7th grade boys coach.

If I rememebr right there was a conflict. Because some parents went and got shirts made up stating "WE SUPPORT SPEED." There was a reason for these shirts!!!
