Wow. I would have loved to watch that one in person. Hang in there Raiders. You have lost 2 tough ones in OT this year.

I don't know where York Township is....my days in Carbon Hill go WAY back...but by no means of disrespect they'll remain Nelsonville to me.

Yea, I don't think York Township is correct either I92 ... Its been awhile since I have been scolded for saying just 'Nelsonville' (the guys in the NY press box absolutly hate it when you don't add the York - and a history lesson usually follows ... lol) But I've been good about it for awhile now (I had to learn the hard way) - but now I forget why exactly its called Nelsonville-YORK.

I'm not in the pressbox much, so I won't have to worry about the scolding or history lessons

Freshman game:
NY 42
RV 37

Keep in mind that RVs 5 best freshman only play 1-2 quarters becasue they start JV.

JV game:
RV 69
NY 60

Yes a coach was thrown out for telling a ref "I hope your f***ing proud of yourself for that call"... And later my son and another kid got tied up and both shoved each other away and got double T's. Then 2 other NY kids came over and were screaming and shoving they both got T's then the one NY kid wouldn't shut up and got another T and was ejected. The JV game was far more exciting than the varsity game.

Varsity game:
NY 69
RV 56

River valley had a 6 point lead with 3:00 minutes left in the first half. At halftime NY had the lead by 9 points !!! NY built the lead in the 2nd half to about 25 then RV started to press late in the 4th like they always do and chipped the lead down to 13. Every single game this happens....

River Valley Varsity falls to 1-6.....

I left that game with the worst feeling i have had since my son started playing BBall in 2nd grade, I am not sure what took place and have no idea why things happened? But if this helps the team grow in the future i am for it! I don't believe in causing drama or questioning the leader of a team it only hurts everyone a team has to have direction and work as a unit or your doing damage and will not have success ! I will wait to pass judgement! I just hope all 11 and the coaches are in this for the full 21 games. When you see a kid practice almost 365 days a year for 10 years to get here you hope no one quits on him and his team mates?? This is not a bad team! They Dominated Nelsonville for a qtr and 5 mins then it looked like the wheels fell off! They had an excellent game plan were executing well taking good shots then pow!

You are absolutely right that the kids are not bad players at all. They are better than 1-6 but that is there record at the moment. If you really, really ask yourself what happened do you still not find the answer?

And just think of all the grief you and a couple of others gave me earlier in the season.... I hope things turn around for RV but remember that I voiced some serious concerns very early on.

Well..... Your take was the easy out and blame the methods and tactics of the coaches claiming they need freedom, that is far from correct! They had freedom 1 shot 30 shots made 4 in most systems would have been pulled! Another had anout 7 turnovers he was not pulled?
What this team has is 2 kids who want to work to win all year and have a basketball iq,plain and simple! I am sure its discouraging holding open gyms and weight sessions and have 3 kids show up! The coaching staff has done a very good job of preparing the game plan for every game except Jackson!
I would say its hard to pat kids who dont take TEAM serious on the butt.

They said the A.D. had to stand between the Coach Kline's daughter and River Valley fans. They said Kline got involved police why not just toss them all out. I can't wait to see this on replay on channel 15. It should be fun to watch. I'm getting the popcorn ready.

2 kids that work hard and have basketball IQ? I can think of a few JV kids that work their butts off ALL year to improve and you know exactly how I know that!

Why is it you think that kids do not WANT to show up for open gyms? There is a right way and a wrong way to lead young men.......

BTW have you talked to your son about practice today?
