Coach LaFon post-game says the Tigers shot only 30%, had Tim sitting out and Michael foul out and Malcolm knocked out and still found a way to win the game. Bragging on Edens - only took 2 shots but was on the ball all the time with assists, feeds, steals. Turnovers were the difference - Portsmouth had 20+ and Ironton had only 9.
Also, the Ironton radio announcers are among the best and most even-handed in my opinion. Jason Philyaw was assisted on air tonight by Jeff Linn substituting for Kevin Anthonee. Yes, they mentioned all the fouls called on Mike Lamb, but they weren't bad-mouthing the refs - just noting that there had been only 4 fouls altogether called in the first half, and then Lamb gets called for 3 in the 2nd half.

Great win Fighting Tigers. Portsmouth had alot of talent and played great as a team the first half. Very proud of Big Coun try inside tonight. I believe my new nickname for him is "The Warrior". Big free throws down the stretch from Jon and Tommy Wag. The shooting was off, but the Fighting Tigers did just that. Kept Fighting all the way.
If Portsmouth figures out how to play two halves as a team, they are going to be a load come tourny time. If they could get real solid full game efforts from the two big dudes and start playing a good inside/outside game, they could be lights out in our district and region. Portsmouth had some good shooters and some big cats inside.
Good Luck Tobias on the exam tomorrow and drive safely.

I was told that John Spencer of the freshman team was sick. The other missing was Kratzenberg. i am not sure if he was sick or not. I do know he is the other player on the roster.

Thanks, I figured they were probably sick with the crazy weather we've been having.
I've been fighting it for a couple weeks now myself.
