I liked what I saw from the Wellston squad during their scrimmage with Logan Wednesday night ... as I posted on the Logan thread - the Rockets are not deep BUT the first 6 players are just that - "players" ... they have good perimeter shooting(from more than one player) that can and will open up the paint for their BIG inside ... the BIG man has good hands, good footwork, can put the ball on the floor/get to the rim/AND finish... defensively the Rockets are scrappy, get in your face, won't back down when the game gets physical ... I look forward to seeing Wellston in "live" action throughout the season ... Athens/Vinton Co. may BE the favorites in the TVC but Wellston will have a say in WHO gets the title this season ...

Who is #4 ---I don't remember him getting into the scrimmage last week against Logan--looks like he might go 6' 5" at the most.

Andrew Richards is #4. He was suspended for that scrimmage. He is in the regular rotation and is a big key to Wellston's inside game.

zipper1 ... Scores from the preview ... http://trivalleyconference.com/

BTW - Wellston looked really good I thought, beating a solid Southern team. Courts played great and I believe it was him that threw down a nice dunk in the 2nd quarter.

No it wasnt Courts that put up the dunk it was Ousley standing 6'6
he didnt get to play in the Logan scrimmage not sure why but I believe he is one to watch.

Thank you bballmom for the correction.

MEIGS looked alright ... It should be a very good match-up when Wellston takes on the Marauders ... Both teams have arguably the best 'front court' in the TVC-Ohio ... 6'4 Jesse Smith and 6'3 Dustin Ulbrich for Meigs versus 6'6 Justus Ousley and 6'3 Nigel Courts ... It should be a very interesting game that could come down to which team has the better 'guard play' that night.

Good team. All five starters back with an exceptionally good bench. Should have a great season with a lot of motivation after the sad loss of Coach D. Go rockets
