The score of this game was close but it was some ugly basketball!

But a win is a win and it keeps the Dragons in the hunt for a share of the conference crown!

Neither team in this game could seem to hit a shot,I don't think I have ever seen so many shots rim out like they did in this game! There were layups rimming out,I have never seen anything like it!I am just totally convinced that the new Fairland gym is simply not a "Shooters Gym" period!

yeah it was an ugly game but like someone said, a win is a win. I do have a question though, if fairland beats chesapeake next week that will give chessy 2 conference losses and fairland will have 2 conference losses but chessys 2 losses will both be against fairland, so the question is does fairland win it all if they beat chesapeake or do they share it

They would share it,It is based on overall conference record! It would seem to make though Chesapeake getting the #1 overall seed in the sectional tourney seem like a debacle though if the Dragons beat them 2 out of the 3 times that they played!

Looks to me like Coal Groves biggest problem is a lack of a ball handler! They dont have a kid on the floor that can go left at all,Therefore there is no floor balance! If you force them back left they are done,They pick up the dribble and then are forced to make a decision with the ball which usually ends up being a bad one when you lose youre dribble!I see what ya mean with the slowdown "Not utlilizing their athletes" But also you have to look that plays right into Fairland's hands,We want people to run with us thats our game!

i think the ovc needs to change the rules.
bc if fairland were to beat peake on the 20th thenthat would mean the peakes two confrence losses would come by fairland and i think that should serve as a tie breaker.. and i think they should have an ovc tourney like we had in middle school. i know theres alot more games in hs but they could cut down on a few..i think thats how they should rly do it.

Back in the 1950's when the OVC first came about you had the "Lawrence County Tournament"which was a double elimination tourney! It sort of acted as what is now the sectional,If you won that you then advanced to district play! The reason there are no conference tourneys is because OHSAA straps you with the 20 game regular season as well,Unlike places like Kentucky where there really are no rules on the number of game you can play! There are like 783 schools in Ohio that play basketball so it is probably mostly done to speed up the process!

South Point beat Peake twice a few years ago when Lafon coach. Peake still won the conference but I thin PS had shirts made that said "we beat the OVC Champs not once but twice!"

... and we beat the team that beat the OVC Champs not once but twice!
The difference that year was that RV and SP both lost another game they shouldn't have and finished at 7-3 while Chesapeake's only losses in league play were those to SP.

Maybe fairland should beat the teams that are sub-par in the conference and you would not have this problem.

I am in complete agreement Bucksfan!Dragons should not have lost to those 2 teams!

But the reality of it is that we did and now have to win out just to get a share of the conference,That is unless South Point can help us out!

This is the coachs fault IMO.You need to be ready for any game especially after River valley beat you the first time.

well its not that fairland didnt play defense.
river valley was just throwin up 3's from like 3 n 4 feet behind the line n they were goin in. it seemed like everyshot river valley took found its way in the basket.
