I think all the freshman are playing JV, but not sure if all the freshman are playing freshman ball..
Re: Freshman:clay at burg
Wheelersburg has about a dozen freshmen and only one sophomore playing basketball. So the freshmen are all playing JV. For the freshmen games only the sophomore is not on the roster. But with the freshmen filling a minimum of 320 JV quarters and each individually being limited to 90 quarters of play, the ones that start JV won't play in a lot of the 11-13 freshmen games that are scheduled. But they all will probably play a quarter or two now and again since no one can play more than 80 quarters of JV. Massie, McBee, Moore and Acree, the four that start JV, have played all four quarters of all the JV games so far so they won't see a lot of freshmen time. But they will have at least 10 quarters available for the freshmen or varsity games this season.
This should make for quite a variety in the line ups that various teams see on the freshmen schedule. But it should mean good playing time for everyone on the roster, even five-foot tall Max--who is a fan favorite--so this is a great situation. The better kids get to play up against juniors and sophomores and rest get to play against freshmen. All should improve.
So far the JV is 2-1 playing with this roster and their one loss was by one point in their first game with one of their better players not playing. Sounds like the remainder of the freshmen are doing OK if they won their first game against Clay.
