Vinton County by 12
Though....I couldn't see Wellston over Athens or Paint Valley over VC.
How does VC do against pressure?

All 5 guys can handle the ball ... pressure is not a problem for VC.
The only think they lack is a little bit of size underneath.

Meigs has to slow it way down or Vinton will run them in the ground .Meigs bigs have to play big and control the boards that's where they have an edge is inside but Vintons guards have a ton of experience .

But they have been the best boxing out team I've watched all year to help make up for it.

I'm guessing this game will be a tale of tempos. VC is gonna want to play an up tempo style while Meigs will probably want a slower, half court style. As much as I'd like to see VC win by a 15+ margin, Meigs is waaay improved from what VC saw last year.

I believe there is a little family rivalry here too. David Kight, head coach for Meigs and NJ Kight assistant coach at VC. Just a little fuel for the fire. ; )

Their dad is the head coach at Jackson, too. Seems like the NJ guy is the only one that can't get a head coaching job. Must be the weak link in the Kight family. I know we sure do like having David at Meigs. He's doing a great job so far.

NJ has been a head coach for girls varsity basketball. And my son played for Dave he is a good coach and motivator but an even better person . He deserves any and all the success he gets and I sea Meigs from the first week of summer league grow leaps and bounds on the floor till the last week of summer league. Good luck to Meigs this year and in the future!!

I think NJ was an interim coach holding the job for one of the parents like Bob is holding a job for Phil Howard?

...
Meigs vs Vinton County ... listened to the Viking Podcast this week - Coach Combs & Co are not taking the Marauders lightly, Coach Combs firmly believes that ANY team in the TVC can beat any other team in the league - Meigs fits the bill .... I look for VC to be focused and ready for MHS coming to Viking Country tonight - should be a very competitive game ...

If I'm not mistaken, VC only limiting Meigs to 24 points set a new school record for fewest amount of points given up at home. The record was previously allowing 30 points versus Waterford on Feb 1, 2002.

Meigs is on the right track. Remember last year VC scored over 100. They definatly played better defense. Keep up the hard work Meigs.
