VC has won the last few games at the 'Nest' and would sure like to do the same in the final TVC-Ohio game @ Belpre. Vinton County comes in at 3-0 with wins over Paint Valley (79-54), John Glenn (51-38) and Trimble (77-66). Belpre is 3-1, (1-0) on the year so far and would love nothing less than to get out to a game and a half lead in the TVC on the pre-season favorite and 3 time defending champs. VC has had problems against taller opponents thus far (JG, Trimble) but a deep bench has let them pull away in the 4th quarter of each of those games. Belpre is similar with size but they also have great speed and shooting at the guard positions. VC will have their hands full with this Belpre team and will need great play from Guthrie on the inside as well as Ethan Allen. It will be key for the Vikings to stay out of foul trouble. Lawhead, Reed, Ward and Thompson HAVE to shoot well against this team to have a chance..and Grillo must take care of the ball and make good passes against a very quick defence that will more than likely press. Vinton County comes in averaging 69 ppg and has allowed 53 points against. Belpre thus far is averaging 60 ppg and is giving up and avg of 60. Both teams have speed and this one could be high scoring imo. Belpre is coming off a loss @ home to a very good Warren team who is now 2-0 vs the TVC ohio. VC and Belpre have played no common opponents as of yet. This is the first game for VC in the TVC and it may possibly be the toughest environment the Vikings will see all year.

From the way I saw coach Combs head towards the locker room, this past Tuesday night, I would venture to say that VC better be more up to their potential. I dont think there is any major problem at VC. IMO, their games have been streched out. They are one game behind where they should be right now. Sometimes, a slower pace is not the best thing for you. Besides, if I was on the VC squad right now, I think I would be more worried about Combs than I would be Belpre. Not saying that they need to take Belpre lightly. VC pulling it out in the 4th. VC by 7+.

VC has out scored their last 2 opponents (i believe) 23-8 (in each game) in the 4th qtr. So the Vikings deep bench does seem to help them out when the game is winding down.

Eagles need to bounce back from the loss to Warren and put together 4 quarters of solid basketball in order to come out with a win against a good Vinton County team. They were erratic at times against Warren and they were also very good at times.Hopefully they can put it all together for the entire game and come out with another TVC Ohio win. GO EAGLES!!!

Thanks pap! Hows Belpre's JV this year? VC i think is undefeated on the season at 2-0 with a big win over Paint Valley and close win over Trimble.

I believe they are 0-4 but they have been in most of the games They lost to Warren last night by 10 and to Meigs Tuesday night by 2.They have some good players but play a little sloppy at times.

IMO,The toughest. The size of the gym just creates a deafening noise. As packed as this gym will be Friday night, you wont be able to hear yourself think.

This will be a good test for the Vikes. Belpre is a very tough place to play for many reasons. IMO a team has to be 10-20 points better than the Eagles to win in the nest. I think VC will win the game in the same fashion theve won their last 2......pulling away in the 4th. The Vikes bench depth and talent will prove to be to much for the Eagles. VC's defense will be the difference in this game. Look for VC to score several points off of steals and close the game late. Good luck to both teams. Great way to start the TVC Ohio for the Vikes.

Belpre- 54

Couldnt have said it better!! The last 3 games at Belpre, the largest win for the Vikings was right around 12 points...the last 3 games in McArthur have been blowout wins for VC...The Nest does seem to level the playing field.
