Norm Persin named National Coach of the Year

Oak Hill Boys Basketball coach Norm Persin earlier this week was named as the National Coach of the year for boys basketball by NFHS.
Congrats Norm! A great accomplishment!

This is a great accomplishment, not only for Persin but also for Oak Hill. They have an excellent program down there. Congrats!

Congratulations to Coach Persin ... very deserving is an understatement - outstanding coach everywhere he has been, teacher/ambassador of the game of high school basketball ... all of us fans who have had the pleasure to see the results of Coach Persin's efforts court side over the years take our hats off to one of the deans of high school basketball ...

I believe it is great that a coach recieves an award, but that's if he or she does it the right way. I have real problem when a coach recieves an award when they cheat. Everyone in Southeastern Ohio and other parts of the state knows and knew what went on at Chesapeake and Oak Hill. Recruiting is a issue, setting out trash cans and running players until they puked their toe nails out. Open gym all year long, having an lookout at the door to let players in only and no visitors. Believe me I'm not trying to start any trouble on this site, but I have a friend that his son played for Storming Norman at Chesapeake and I have heard all the stories about this GUY. It's a real shame that a person is awarded when they don't do it the right way. I have always said that winners never cheat and cheaters never win. Sorry if I offended any of Norm's supporters.

The Oak Hill recruiting thing has been run in the ground. The two boys left Jackson because Jackson did not have a coach, it is as simple as that. You should have offered your evidence otherwise when it was approriate. No other kids came in prior, or have since.

OAKS ONE, I will advise you, don't start something you know nothing about. I do know that OHSSA has looked the other way several times. All you have to do is travel to Chesapeake and ask NORMS former players what went on.

I do know about Oak Hill. There was no recruiting at Oak Hill. I would know nothing about Chesapeake. You should admit the same about Oak Hill.
