All kidding aside,is the job a lock for the jv coach or would they consider someone from outside the system?And any thoughts on who might be interested?

I'm pretty sure the procedure is in the contracts. Supplementals have their own clause though.

of course they will interview...but like 2 yrs ago there is no point...they already have their man

Not necessarily....at least that wasn't the procedure last year, but was the year before...seems the rules change from year to year depending on what outcome they want....this year should be interesting considering you have the same unhappy parent groups......stay tuned

Ticklethetwine , they did not interview last year because their was no opening... they interviewed 2 years ago because their was an opening... Dont think the rules change.. why would you need to interview every year if the job is not available?

How was there an opening 2 years ago when Coach McFarland had the job? He didn't quit!


They were saying it was policy 2 years ago to interview every year for supplemental contracts.

coaching contracts are on a one year basis

So they should have interviewed last year????

If they are happy with the coach they just renew the contract without interviewing. What happened two years ago was very crooked, they led Mr. McFarland to beleive the job was his,, Knowing all along they were not going to hire him back.. they should have been up front with him instead of letting him apply and interview for no reason...

Did Coach Lawhorn ever coach at Rio Grande? Thanks in advance.

the job comes open, doesnt mean they interviewed for it but the job is open every year

Lawhorn was at Rio from 1980-1996?

He may have started in the late 70's.
