Who has the toughest schedule in Southeast Ohio?

This post should start with "post your 2010-11 schedules" first. Without seeing who everyone is playing, it is hard to say who has the toughest schedule. Burg has a pretty tough schedule with the top SOCII teams (twice) including Oak Hill, Waverly, South Webster and Valley. Out of conference, they play Ironton, Portsmouth and Chesapeake among others. Is this the toughest? Probably not, but it's no cupcake schedule...especially since Burg is still playing football and most of the basketball team is on the football team....

It actually might be the toughest schedule. If anyone has Chesapeake or Ironton schedules please post them.

I can tell you this about Ironton...

They play Ashland (KY), Logan Elm, Huntington High, Campbell Memorial, Cincinnati Taft, Chesapeake, Dayton Stivers, Portsmouth, Waverly, Columbus Mifflin, Wheelersburg, and on Senior Night...Huntington Prep.

Good luck finding something tougher than that.

Chesapeake plays the following teams: Cabell Midland, Spring Valley, Columbus Africentric, Logan,WV, Parkersburg, Ironton, Wheelersburg,and Athens. Their is one other tourney game which I'm not sure who they play. May not be the toughest but certainly is a tough schedule.

Waverly has to play on the road until 12/28 and arguably has one of the toughest if not the toughest in seo.

Interesting that this topic came up after I was talking with our coaches yesterday about Portsmouth's schedule........being a D3 school, our schedule has 16 of 20 games vs. D1 or D2 schools.......the 3 games in Florida will be against all D1 schools, while a double dip with Logan in the SEOAL accounts for a total of 5 games vs. D1 competition. The Trojans' D2 schedule includes two games each vs. Chillicothe and Warren, and 1 game with Waverly. PHS also will play D3 Wheelersburg, at D3 Ironton, and at D4 South Webster, which is supposed to be one of the better D4 teams in SE Ohio.

I would say beyond a doubt that the Trojans have a very challenging schedule.

EVERYONE has a tough schedule this year! I would probably say Ironton has a slight edge in that dept myself. They may have to play Chesapeake twice. Once in regular season and Once in the St Joe (huntington) Invitational. Which my guess is they will. Peake wont play both Cabell Midland and Spring Valley for the simple fact Ironton is in it this year. Peake Power, I think the other tourney they play a team from Virginia but know absolutely nothing about them or even the name of the school. But I know I cant wait for it all to begin....almost basketball 30. I know nothing about a lot of the teams Wavery, Portsmouth or Logan play. But I dont put a lot of stock into whether a team is D1, D2 or D3 to say how good they really are. A good D3 team will beat a mediocre D2 team most of the time. Just my opinion. We'll all know pretty soon!

ovc fan: I agree with you about D1 and D2 schools sometimes being overrated........my point with Portsmouth's schedule is that is it rare to see a D3 school play 16 of 20 games against schools that size.......especially rare in the SE District.......of course being the smallest school in the SEOAL accounts for 12 of those games.

Portsmouth's Florida trip is hard to figure......it could be those teams are not what they are advertised to be, or some of them could be among the best teams the Trojans face this year.

Ironton playing Cincinnati Taft and Huntington Prep may be the two toughest games anybody in the SE District plays.

Im willing to bet Portsmouth will see some of the Top talent in the country when they make thier trip to Florida.

Agreed. Also, the Bowman team that chilli is playing in Wellston has a 6'5 junior who is supposed to be a STUD. Already has offers from OSU, Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana.

you are correct, Waverly does play Ironton on 1-29 but the Ironton Classic is in December:

IMO. Chillicothe and Ironton have the toughest two schedules but schools like Piketon, Logan, and Portsmouth all have some good one too. Chilli and Ironton play some elite schools though.
