They have the Hayes brothers. The older one, Kwanis(spelling?), is the taller one. About 6'6 I think. Then the younger,Taquan(spelling?), is about 6'3. After that the talent level goes down a bit. They are all pretty quick and very athletic. I think with enough pressure they will crack. Good luck.

Tobias, This is Huntington High. Not Huntington Prep. Huntington High is located off I-64. Hal Greer exit and make a right I Believe (away from Huntington). There is a sign almost right off the exit on the left that will direct you up the hill to the Huntington High School. It hasnt been there very long.

I new that it was the combined schools of the old Huntington High and Huntington East which was built in the mid to late 90's. I just didn't know if the games were played at their gym or at Big Sandy Arena.
Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to the game this Friday night.
BTW, I think Ironton plays Huntington Prep in February. I would like to watch that game, too.
Tobias, Ironton plays Huntington Prep on February 15 in Ironton......

K. Hayes- 6'5 or 6'6 (Good for double didgets every night in points and rebounds_
T. Hayes- 6'3 (Flat out good player overall best player and scorer)
Aaron Williams- 5'9 (Good player also. He was one of the better guards at Hnt. St. Joe last year. He can shoot it well)
Shefield- 6'3 or 6'4 (Athletic not a big time scoring threat but play hard and rebounds well.) I cant remember his first name.
Chase Baker- 6'6 (Thin and athletic. He has the abilitiy to score but doesn't look to very often. He also rebounds well)
I believe that is HHS starting five and they are all athletic! I hope i can make it to this game should be a good one. But i think the Tigers have the best advantage in this game with Coch Lafon!

Huntington will get a tester on Wednesday when they travel to play South Charleston, who is preseason ranked No 2 in WV for AAA schools. Huntington is not ranked currently. Should Huntington win or play South Charleston tough on the road Wednesday, then the Tigers could be in trouble. Ironton will need a much better effort than at Saturday's Convo appearance, where they played well for about a quarter and a half.

After watching the game high-lights on Channel 3 this morning I will say the Tigers will need to play their "A" game tomorrow nite......looks like the Tigers will be able to match up with the Highlanders speed and turnovers will have to be kept to a minimum.....

Neither school is gonna be in session today.
Ironton even has a note saying they won't resume classes until January 3rd.

Is this game still on?

It's listed as a triple-header with the first game scheduled at 4:30. I've been watching Huntington TV - both WSAZ and WOWK News since 5:00 and neither are mentioning or scrolling any "cancellations". I figure it must be on per schedule. I'll get WIRO Radio turned on to see if I can hear anything mentioned on there. We'll know for sure in about an hour, if not sooner. Whatever, I'll be ready!

Thanks, Jason! Where should one go to learn the status of any game in questionable weather? When does the decision get made? If school is cancelled does that automatically cancel all "after-school activities" including sports events for Ironton? I know you don't MAKE that decision; but as the "broadcaster" you have be one of the first to be notified. How/from whom do you learn the ON/OFF status of a potentially cancelled game? And how/where do all the rest of us find that out? Thanks!!
