FH cannot take this game lightly. Waterford is a well coached, smart Basketball team.

Should be a great game. Rumor has it that these two teams battled it out hard this summer at Marietta College.
I have no doubt that the Lancers (0-1) will be more than ready to take on the Wildcats.

I don't make excuses. I simply state facts.
When you are in the car and headed to Glouster or Racine, the conversation is seldom about the teams, even though both Trimble and Southern have decent basketball programs. Its about the home cooking. I have not seen horrendous reffing at Waterford, but I guess there is always that possibility.
If the Lancer win, great. If they lose to a team that is better on a given night, not so great, but understandable. If the refs have disgusting beer guts, can barely make it up and down the floor, and are so blatantly favoring the home team, then it is time to blow the whistle. Fans and families are more than willing to watch their kids compete, but nobody wants to spend money at a place where the refs act as if the game is about them, and not the players and schools. I have watched that kind of thing go on for YEARS.
Lets hope for an injury free, well played, well officiated game tonight.
Go Lancers!

Wango Z Tango looking at the lack of success you have had in the tournaments, which are played at neutral sites, I'm going to guess you may be the place with the home cooking. You got beat by 35 points at Racine and it was the officials fault and you say you don't make excuses.

George Jones your posts are pretty amusing. Wango Z Tango posts very unbiased reports on these games. If you would have been at Eastern you would have understood the ref comment. It's never a good sign when one of the first things an official does is come out and shake hands with people in the home crowd. That's really distasteful and unprofessional and deserves criticism.
The Lancer basketball program is in a state of change. When Southern and Eastern and several other TVC teams take to the tourneys they go in a division lower. FH is just barely a DIII team by enrollment and this is a disadvantage for them come tourney time when they have to play the small DIV schools in the TVC Hocking.
Go check TVC Championships over the years and I think you will find FH has collected their share including 1990-1991 before there were any divisions. Too bad some schools in this league have a few good years and then feel an entitlement to start bashing other programs. There is up years, down years, coaching changes.......everyone school weathers these changes. No one is immune. I can remember years that every school in the TVC could stink up the joint and years they were dynamite. The Belpre program is having the same woes right now but how can you argue with their history???? You can't!
Now tell us how many TVC Championships your school has racked up as an original charter member of the TVC????
Go Lancers!!! Keep working and remember Lancer Pride!

Waterford won by 15. Good game, Fed as down 7 or 8 but Waterford closed it out at the line. Porter, and Lang outrebounded the Lancers

Waterford is a hot team right now. Winning at Southern, and then beating Trimble and Federal Hocking both by double digits are no small accomplishments. The Lancers need to stay positive. They have played two games on the road against the reigning TVC Hocking Champs and then what appears so far to be a very good Waterford team. FH needs to put the past two games behind them and get a win in their home opener on Friday against Belpre.
