Rosecrans will be the #1 seed, they are #1 ranked in the AP poll for D-4.

River will be the #2 seed at either 13-5 or 12-6.

Seeds 3-6 will be in some order: Bridgeport, Caldwell, Beallsville, Frontier

Seed 7 and 8 will be Bellaire St. John and Shadyside

Rosecrans will not be tested in this sectional. They may win each of their two games by 30-40 points +.

River playing really good b-ball right now, also.

Seeds 4,5,6 @ Union Local not likely to be really decided upon until the draw on Sunday, when the coaches fill out their ballots. I can see it going in any order of the three.

Beallsville will not be punished for Sam Jackson quitting. If they do not beat Bridgeport this coming weekend, they will have lost to them both times. They also lost to River twice, getting hammered this past Sat. at Hannibal. They split with Caldwell. Frontier beat them at least once. If they don't get a 3,4,5 seed, they have nobody to blame but themselves.

Also, their is no way to know any district matchups regardless of the teams that make it there. Two things are set in concrete: Rosecrans #1 @ U.L. and Hiland #1 @ New Philly. Now, each of those teams will have their choice as whether to go to the upper or lower brackets in their respective sectionals. The #2 seeds at each site must then go to the line of their choice in the opposite bracket. I'm certain there will be a conversation between the two coaches before Sun. as to which brackets Hiland and Rosecrans will choose in their respective sectionals. One or both might want to play early games within the sectional, or they may choose to take more time off up front and play their sectional games closer to the district tourney dates. Hiland might want to play twice in their sectional to stay sharp or might take the bye to rest and heal any bumps and bruises. There is alot that goes into seeding and choosing when to play, especially if you are a high seed.

If they didn't want to meet earlier, yes you are correct.

There is one other variable... Today's Times Leader stated that the East District sectional tourney brackets with dates and times for each of the games (in respect to upper or lower brackets) were yet to be posted online. That means if that info is not released before Sunday, there would be no way to know alot of the things I alluded to. I believe though, that the upper/ lower bracket matchup assignments for the sectional winners in regards to district matchups have been decided for some time and have been available on the OHSAA website for awhile, too.

Off night probably. They've already played Hiland twice, no need to scout them. I'm sure they've watched Rosecrans. Scouting River completed their homework assignment, I figure.

it didn't appear that they were too concerned, as one of the coaches read a newspaper the entire second half.

Hmm. So Caldwell vs River? I believe they've split this season. Possible upset?

I wouldn't put too much stock in this matchup actually playing out. If it does, then yes, it's a rubber-match.
