Valley Head Coaching Job ?

Does anyone know if Valley is replacing Villenger ? Rumors are floating around just like to know if anyone has any insight on this.

Valley's BOE cut several teaching positions and I think his may have been one of the cuts.

Wow....that is a tough cut. Valley should be one of the top teams in the SOCII this year and probably will be moved to DIV and have a good shot at making a tournament run.

It looks like the interview process is starting. I would bet that this job goes to a non teacher. I can't see the district hiring a teacher after cutting all those positions just a few weeks ago.

The first reported numbers had them with 126 boys which would have been D4, but it changed to 152, so they will remain D3. They must have been one of the schools that did not initially report Vocational School students.

I'm not sure where you are getting that number, but the OHSAA still shows Valley with 126. 152 seems very high as the numbers are way down in the district.

Yes, you are right it is still 126. 152 was the previous enrollment number.

I heard they interviewed 3 guys... The Jr High coach, the JV coach. I heard it from a pretty good source, but I'm not sure if that was it. Is there any truth to this? Has a coach been named?

Just wanted to add, that as a father of kids in the district I would like to see either of the first two get the chance to do the job. They are both Lucasville guys and I know both of them well, I think the program would be in good hands with either guy.

I'm right with ya BO I say keep it within ! I know both coaches and they would do a fine job but as a brother of a player they absolutely love the JV coach !

Pretty sure it was the boys... Like I said, I can't be 100% sure, this is all second hand knowledge.

That's why I didn't say any names or say that I knew for sure... I heard the "coach from Piketon", didn't hear a name or if it was an assistant or boys or girls coach. Sorry for any confusion.

It looks like Scott Rolfe is your new Valley Boys Varsity Coach! Coach Rolfe is a good guy and a good coach that should do well for the Indians. Glad to see they offered it to a Lucasville guy that boys are familiar with... Congrats to Coach Rolfe!
