Big games agaisnt Athens and vinton in the first two weeks!

Athens early on may be behind a little as they probably make the playoffs and I'll assume some of their players suit up on Friday nights.

I think that second game against VC will be for the TVC crown.

Is the Big Blue Classic formerly known as the Wellston Classic?

KrAm....The Big Blue Classic is the 4-team "tournament" over Christmas break at WHS.

2 games first night, then consolation and championship games the other.

Wellston plays 2nd game 1st night, and OVC is always one of the 4 teams.

With coach Derrow this teams wins 15-16 games. With the inexperience of the coaching staff I say they win 10-11 games at most. Still scraching my head over the hire. Anyway good luck to the rockets this year.

When was the last time Wellston won 16 games in the regular season?

Negativity won't help much.

Not sure of that but I do know the tvc is down a bit this year and there non- conf games are weak besides peake. I'm not being negative at all. I just don't understand why not stay in house with the hire. Wellston had 3 or 4 coaches on staff that would have been a better fit for this team. Just my opinion.

I think Wellston will surprise so e people this year. They were able to split with Athens and VC last year played meigs and nelsonville well if I remember correctly. They did get smashed by Alex twice but they lost their top 2 players.. Wellston only lost one player from the roster last year. So tons of experience and alot to play for this year.

Coach Graham is a quality choice. He has the backing of the community. He knows the kids and I think he will do a great job.

I think those boys will be fired up this year to put together a fine season in Jimmy's honor.

My son came home from school Friday and said the team will have to play their first 10 games on the road due to the gym floor being takin up. Won't be ready to play on till early to mid January. My question is why in the world are they doing this now? 1 week before basketball starts! Well I guess that's wellston for you. Why was this not done durning the summer? Wellston could easily start out 2-8 now with all these road games. Just can't think what our wonderful school system was thinking? Why not play your volleyball games at the middle school this fall and get the floor down?

Why not play the first half of the season at the middle school? NY did this two years ago and although it was tight with only one side of seating, it was no different than playing against a TVC hocking school.

Nothing wrong with rooting for your team. Plus Wellston is better,but that would be a tough call to make...even with Derrow. There are 3 teams, on your schedule that you play twice that have great basketball programs and at least 3 others (non league) that have solid programs.
