Any reports on New Philly?

They seem to be fairly young with only 3 seniors 1 junior 5 sophomores and a freshman. They also seem to jack up quite a few three's. They played a good Canton Mckinley team to a 1 point loss early in the season but have also had close games against mediocre teams. I would say much like many young teams you don't know what team will show up on any given night. I would give the edge to Waverly if they play like they did against Fairland however it will not be an easy task.

Can't hardly wait until Thursday...What style does New Philly play? I hear they like to run and press...is that correct? How about their size?

dont know much about new philly but 38-36 win seems low for a district final we may just let kretzer play them

I'm sure the Waverly staff has scouted New Philadelphia up and down, so there won't be any surprises. The word I hear is NP has no one to match up with Jake and Waverly would be considered the favorite in this one. Known opponents would be Zanesville who won by 6 and Marietta who fell to NP by 2 and by 15.

NP has 4 kids who average between 10 and 13 , so scoring is balanced. IMO, Waverly will have the advantage on the glass and will have the best player on the floor. If Tigers play D and take care of the ball, they will be in the Elite 8.

it will take a total team effort for the tigers to win devin and jp and phillip hart need to get hot from deep if that happens it will open it up for jake zach and taylor on the inside and the tigers will make it to the elite 8

when the tigers lost the soc it made them hungry. you could see it in there eyes and play.don,t think the well be satisfied intil they beat chilly.

be careful what u wish for both Waverly and Chillicothe have stepped up their game...would like to see them matchup in the Finals...but first things first the Semis...good luck to the Tigers!!!

This is a lil late but are you kidding me, Waverly has firetrucks escort them after winning the districts? Please someone tell me that it was just a coincidence that the firetrucks were rushing to a fire the same time Waverly pulled into town..... Also heard they got all they could eat at KFC? I wish Jake Kretzer the best of luck in the Regional Semis but please save the embarrasement and wait til you actually get to state before doing something like that!

yes what a great regional final match that would be but the tigers must first focus on new philly

They are selling Regional Championship shirts at each of their schools. Now that is confidence! Must not have much respect for the lowly Tigers, Chillicothe or St. Clairsville.

New Philly is a very good team. Saw both games they played against Marietta and they're very athletic.
