Burg @ Minford 2/1/13

Post by KingoftheCourts »

Okay Falcon fans, what do you think?
In my opinion, the boys are playing EXCELLENT ball right now and I think they will be hard to beat at home.
The boys are coming off a great win at Northwest, where they played superb teamwork and great rebounding!
Right time of the year for everything to start coming together!

I'll take my Falcons by 16+!

Go Falcons!
BEAT BURG!

I AGREE! The Falcons have not lost a game at home since the second game of the season! They are playing exceptionally well as a team! Now's when it all needs to come together for the Falcons as they have a tough finish to season and will be preparing for tournaments!

I'll take my Falcons by 11!

LET'S GO FALCONS!! BEAT BURG!

I agree lastnight was probably the first time the Falcons played a complete ballgame. No doubt Minford has a talented team but when you let them go they are dangerous. Minford struggles at times with bad shot decisions or turnovers at times, which my opinion comes from the style of play they were playing SLOW. Lastnight coach let them all go and they played lights out even the bench rotation came in an gave great minutes.

This game will be close .. No more than a 5 point victory either way .. Minford better be ready to play hard and smart for 4 qtrs because as seen in the first match up , only won by 3 and was an inch away from going into OT !

Should be a good game. Look for a good crowd on hand and look for the Minford pep band doing there thing to keep the night hoppin'. By far Minford has one of the greatest sounding pep bands in the area.

Minford by 10+.

Burg has one kid that can shoot, the rest of them struggle to get the ball in the hole. If Minford plays good in your face defense all game, it wont be close at halftime.

Minford plays much better when they press on defense and play up tempo on offense. I can see McBee, Gullion and McCray all having a big night tomorrow.

Bad shot selections and turnovers doesn't come from the style of ball being played. A team can have bad shot selections and turnovers in a fast paced game, which is when bad shot selections and turnovers occur more.

The Falcons are very talented and I am looking forward to a great finish to season and a great tournament run!!

GO FALCONS!!

I see this game being another close one. Burg has been showing some different looks defensively and even a little 1-2-2 zone in the past couple of games. If they can collapse a little more on McCray to slow him down a little and force Minford outside more often, this could come down to the wire once again.

Minford has to stay focused to keep a hold on the 3 seed for the tournament. Right now Ironton and Valley seem to have a lock on the top 2 spots and any slip ups between now and the tournament draw could put Minford into the 4 vs 5 game, which is always tough. Burg always seems to play Minford tight and games @West and @Chesapeake are no walks in the park.

@Falcon Fury

Like I said my opinion! But when you have McBee,Stapleton,Gullion,Howard,McCray,Farrar,Justice,Rowe you turn them loose. Look back at the games we have played at the uptempo pace compared to our stay in half court zone an walk the ball up the floor. The Falcons can run let them go.

Hard to pick the pirates. Struggle to score. Big man for Minford will be problem as we. Can he stay out of foul trouble? (Kinda funny....foul---falcon). Don't think burg can hang. See double digit win for falcons.

Heard the final was 48-37.

I don't understand with all the speed Burg has that they don't just run, run run. I remember watching this Senior group in Jr High and that is all they did and they wore teams out and they put points on the board.

What do they have to lose by changing the offense?

Have to disagree with "yaba"! If Burg tries to run with my mighty Minford falcons we blow you away by 20! With McBee, Stapleton, Gullion, Rowe, company, Burg has no chance. McBee was on those junior high teams. We Burg tried to run in the 4th they had 3 straight turnovers and couldn't get back to stop us! Get beat by 20 or more or have a chance to win! I'd take Barrick ball cause he'll give his players a chance to win. Burg makes their foul shots and they probably win! Barrick can't shoot 'em for his players! My money would be on him if he could! Lol

Did anyone really think Burg had a chance? If they run the floor they get beat by 20. If the slow it down and minimize possessions they get beat by 11. Pick your poison. Burg has one consistent player on the hardwood and the Minford JVs beat Burg by 30. Oh my. Things aren't looking promising at Burg on the hardwood.

Yes .. I did and I would say everyone in that gym last night with less than 2 minutes remaining thought they had a chance with Minford only up 2 in the final period . Burg done a very good job on McCray and McBee all night and had a chance late in the 4th to win it .. Gullion , Farrar , Rowe, Stapleton , and Howard all stepped up in there own way to help the Falcons come away with the W ... Free throws down the stretch were KEY in the victory !!
