Glad my Cavs made it. Tall task vs Athens as I've seen them play and they're good and well coached. Looking forward to watching all of the local teams this year.

Biggest thing the CAVS have going for them is experience. These kids expect to get to Regionals every year even though they havent had a great year the big atmosphere of the Convo will be nothing new to any of these kids. Since they were in 6th grade Chilli has dominated the district. Lets hope we can pull out 2 more wins and get yet ANOTHER district title!

Go Cavs!

Its not like Athens has never been to the Convo - they were their last year and know what to expect ... The schedule Jeff Skinner put together this season also has them prepared, IMO.

Athens traveled to Rio Grande College and beat CHESAPEAKE 60-47 in the Newt Oliver Classic.
They drove up to Circleville and defeated LOGAN ELM 56-53.
They were at the Marietta Classic and beat a pretty good HANNIBAL RIVER team 76-72.
Swept NELSONVILLE-YORK (16-6).
Lost a thriller to WARREN 57-60.
Traveled all the way to the Beasts of the Southeast at Chesapeake and beat FAIRLAND 69-59.
Beat Vinton County (17-4) ... 52-44 ... then lost to VC 58-55 without PG Zacciah Saltzmen late in the season.

* All the road games and classics (which is almost like a tournament atmosphere) was a pretty good way to get a team ready for post season play ... I guess we'll find out this week if it pays off.

I agree Athens is a good team and are very well coached but so are the rest of the field at the Convo this week... it should be very, very.. interesting.

Gotta go with the Bulldogs in this one. Chillicothe is down this year and Athens is playing solid ball.......even when they are having an off night, the Bulldogs still find ways to win.

I'd have to pick Chilly over the talented and youthful Bulldogs. Athens should have never lost to an average Circleville team last year and did. The pressure is all on Athens since most think Chilly is down. However Chilly has been playing their best ball late in the season. Hopefully the officiating is good so there is no complaints from the crowd or radio announcers again.

1. I feel better - and more confident - about the Bulldogs chances now ... greatone is rarely right (so I appreciate him picking against Athens ... lol)
2. We are on Power 105 FM - so the 'bias' treatment of the radio announcers will try and be kept at a minimum ................................................................. maybe. ;-)

Your right I'm rarely right, maybe if Rollie's health is up to it he could stop by and give you some pointers on the second part :-)

I would pay money for his insight, tips, advice greatone, no doubt about it ... heck, I would probably pay just to sit down and chit-chat with Rollie about anything ...

Chilly 27
Athens 14

Halftime

Chilly just looks more aggressive and focused. Athens will most definately make a run in the second half.
