Portsmouth West will compete this year. They are very well coached. Wish them the best of luck!

My pick is West Union. They paid their dues last year. They have talent and should be ready for a breakout season.

... look for the Purple of Logan to be very competitive this season with the addition of 6-8 Kevin Fisher in the paint ...

Piketon will surprise some folks...the kids had a good summer and a coach that has been in the program for awhile.

... another team to watch this season is the Circleville Tigers with new head man Coach Goodyear ...long time asst. coach at Bloom Carroll Coach Goodyear will bring a demand for perfection on the hardwood from his players ... solid fundamentals will be the norm , if the Tigers have some talent for Coach Goodyear to work with this season he will make them a TEAM that you will have to bring your A game to beat home or away ... I'll be keeping a close eye on what CHS brings to the hardwood this season over in the Northwest Territories ...

I think if they moved up to D2 it will be hard for them to compete. There will be some good D2 teams get left in their sectional with the way D2 is set up in SEO this year.

I was just about to post Circleville, but pfloyd is on top of the game.

Northwest looked good against Green. While I don't think they will take the SOC, they may disrupt the top of the division if one of the top teams overlook them.

Already mentioned: Circleville, Piketon

Adena will be much improved from the past 4 seasons. They took a big step forward last year and should take another one this year.

I think teams shouldn't look past Waverly this year. They're going to win more games than people give them credit for. They have a lot of speed and get after it defensively. Definitely a fun team to watch this year.

... reading thru many of the posts in the preseason it sounds like South Point will be a team looking to make some noise in the OVC this season ... good guard play and I believe I read about some "move in" size this season as well ... I pay attention to ALL 71 teams Below the Lancaster-Dixon Line but I will be looking to read about the Pointers in the early season for sure in 2013-14 ...

My pick (West Union) started the season off by going 2-0 this weekend. Good start for the Dragons!

BB#26 the committee of one - me - has the West Union boyz on the big board with a bullet already ... a 2-0 first weekend with wins over Portsmouth East 85-55 and a 67-42 win over Whiteoak IS a great start for the Dragons ...

I agree with Circleville....they will be a much better team this year as will Adena. Coach Smith is a great coach and he finally has some real basketball talent to work with and some upperclassmen.

I, however, after one game....do NOT agree with Piketon. I know its early...and when they get Farmer back they will be a different team. That performance at the Tip-Off Classic was horrible. Brewster has played point guard with a lot of talent around him his whole career...now that everyone is gone it seemed like he was trying to do way too much. a lot of ill advised shots. I was impressed with the little guy #3 that kid is a sniper with a lot of range
