Piketon Redstreaks 2013-2014

With the possible return of Coach Lisath, and the returning players they have coming back, I look for the 'Streaks to be competitive. It is hard to replace 7 seniors, and what they bring to the table in practice and games. Returning starters Jeremy Farmer(SR.) and Wyatt Brewster(JR.) will be the go to guys this season. Wyatt will take on more of a scoring load with the seniors graduating. Jeremy will shine more as a post player this season. Insert Zack Jordan(JR.), a lights out shooter. Shawn Collier(SR.), pretty much a utility player on the basketball court. He can score, is great at finding open teammates, and can drive to the basket. Insert Aaron Southworth(JR.) into that mix and you have great post presence that can protect the paint, rebound, and score along with Jeremy Farmer. Tristen Veach(JR.) is coming off a broken collar bone in a JV game last season. High hopes for him coming into last season that were cut short due to the injury. Look for him to step up and be in the main rotation. I think Devon Brewster(SO.) will get some spot varsity minutes this season. Big, strong, physical kid that can shoot, and defend when he sets his mind to it. Insert him into the mix with better guys around him, and he can be a great role player. I look for Casey Moore(FR.), Craigen Moore's little brother, to be inserted into this scenario as well. Great slasher, can drive and score, very athletic. Role players will be Daniel Farmer(SR.), Chase Jones(SR.), Isaac Dixon(SR.), Stefan Thacker(JR.) and a few other JV/Freshmen players last season that will have to come in and prove themselves.
The main weakness I see for this upcoming season will be the lack of a PG. Who will step up and run it? Will Veach be ready? Can Zack Jordan be a point? Can Collier handle the ball well enough to run it? Will Moore come in and prove himself this summer? All is yet to be told for the upcoming season, but I think the 'Streaks will be in the mix for the league title.
Thoughts?

Coach Stanley said Lisath is a finalist for the Dayton Carroll and Kettering Alter job. So what I posted on another topic is true? The Corrections folks is letting him come back? If so, that is good news....although I think Piketon lost a lot of talent last season, may need a couple of rebuilding seasons.

I'm not a finalist for any coaching positions and I did find out my retirement may have been premature or wishful thinking

. The AD, school, coaches and the kids know where I stand on the issue.

pfloyd, I appreciate the kind words. Hopefully it will work out for me, as I truly love coaching the game and enjoyed my nine years at Piketon. I don't think we have to re-build....I don't think we will be re-loading...I do know we will re-structure and be very competitive. I just have to wait and see how God works it all out...I put it in His hands.

Hey coach Lisath,
You need to get Tom Kelley back on board. He is working way too much and needs a life.

Is Coach L back at the helm of the Redstreak Nation? Are the rumors true he's back?

So, is Lisath coming back? The latest "rumor" is he was offered the job at New Lebanon Dixie H.S. and a college job at Taylor University.

Streaks are looking good in open gym this Spring. I have a good feeling about this group.

Would love to have him back...although he still comes around and will always be part of the family. I'm sure he is very busy right now :122245

Glad Lisath is back, too good of a coach to sit in the stands.

Don't look for my beloved Streaks to slip very far. Another league title and District runs are on the menu. 2 starters back and lots of pieces to go along. Jeremy Farmer would have been on The All Convo Team is it existed for this past District & Regional games. The young man grew up before our eyes and became a big cog in the Redstreaks machine.

I hope not. He has done a solid job at Piketon. The only way I see him leaving Piketon now is if his job requires him to.

My prison sources said he was told he would remain in Dayton for awhile and he can't coach two hours away from the prison. I can't believe he did that last season.

Will the Redstreaks still be in the Bannon Park Classic on July 4th weekend?
