Portsmouth Clay was posted on the OHSAA website

I'm hearing more coaching positions coming open - I don't have anything other than posters letting me know who has not been renewed or who is not seeking renewal ... but I'm looking for movement with more names to be added to your list if what I've been told is true ...

That seems surprising to me. Would think this job would generate a lot of interest with some of the talent Ironton has returning and coming up from the lower levels.*

Ironton does lose 6 Seniors. Layne would be their lone returning starter I believe.

According to a Twitter post he resigned, but will continue teaching. Cited more time with his grandchildren.

Coach Barnes’s son is on staff at IHS correct? Heck of a player at South Point. I am not sure what his wishes are, but as an internal hire would make sense.

Sons were on staff until this year. Both in education. Austin Collins was on staff, not sure if he would be interested in head coach. Same with Stevens.

There is a really good group coming, I believe in 6th or 7th. Athletes will be there every year for the right coach, but as mentioned losing a lot in the short term.

I gotta think if Shoemaker steps away from Minford he takes a season off. Not sure what the advantage of leaving Minford for Ironton would be? He still works for Scioto County CTC. That 40 minute drive from there to Ironton would get old quick, imo.

Jacob Wells will probably apply as well.
Ed Fry?
Maybe Speed at Fairland would be interested in a change of scenery.
Corey Allison?

Heard a few days back that Speed (Fairland) is leaving for a West Virginia coaching job.*

That would certainly be a surprise. He’s built a great program.
