... LOL , 93dog! no kickbacks, up front capital of any kind LOL ... all those T-shirts made it so we had to look to buy "up" in house size ... Dogs of War by Pink Floyd ... Brilliant!!! ... as far as the Tigers breaking the Elite 8? - not happening "this season" LOL - the MHS program is a work in progress from Varsity down through biddy ball ... Coach Duckworth has made it known he is there to bring respect back to the Marietta Tiger program ... from the info coach sent my way he is doing it right (running clinics for biddy ball/middle school players AND coaches alike) ...

93dog - hope all is going well with you during the grid iron season ... I haven't been able to get to a game! - yet ... getting the current house ready to go on the market while doing work on the new Pfloyd "1871 condo" has taken up ALL Fridays - Sundays since school started up ... Mrs. Floyd is a slave driver!!!

We at North Adams would love to have you visit on Saturday November 30th for the 1st Coach Young Classic, an all-day classic to honor the life of the late great Coach Dave Young. Here is the schedule of games:

11:00am- West Union v. Whiteoak
12:45pm- Peebles v. Wheelersburg
2:30pm- North Adams v. Manchester (Girls)
4:15pm- Manchester v. Racine Southern
6:00pm- Eastern Brown v. Chesapeake
8:00pm- North Adams v. South Webster

socfan I can think of no better place to be - wow! what a great lineup of games and teams to watch ... especially to honor one of the best hoops coaches EVER in Southern Ohio or Above the Lancaster-Dixon Line - Dave Young ... I admired Coach Young for many years, then had the opportunity to meet Coach Young at my first Beast of the Southeast tourney in Chesapeake, I still have the NA T-shirt that Coach Young gave to me ... you are absolutely right - there IS NO BETTER WAY to celebrate Coach Young than to bring together a group of quality teams for a day of high school hoops - perfect ... count me in socfan, with the Zane Trace Tip Off Classic going to a one affair this year (Nov 29th) that opens up the schedule for Saturday the 30th and the 1st Coach Young Classic ...

I remember doing a more in-depth Elite 8 back in the day when I wasn't ranking 71 teams LOL - had more time to add to the top 8's weekly rundown back then - not so much time now ...

Sweet Lou has written soccer articles for The Messanger since at least 2001. He was the only person to ever write about the great Alexander/Unioto games, so a parent of ours would frequently pick up a copy so the players could read about the games.

... it's getting a little cooler outside!, football is now going into the 2nd half of the season, coaches are looking seriously at open gyms, individual workouts happening ... basketballs ARE heard in the gyms after school hours ... the clock is ticking as we head for the official opening day of hoops practices - Nov 1st ... games Nov 29th ... it's all coming together ... Hoops 2013-14 is just around the corner ... tic toc tic toc ...

LOL!!! 93dog I know you have that football thing in your blood my friend - you are forgiven for not thinking hoops YET BUT it is approaching , just over a couple of hills, around a curve or two and we will be there ... haven't been able to get into football season - lots happening around the pfloyd household"S" - moving and trying to get the current house sold ... I will try to take in an Athens vs ? game before the season ends tho ...

Floyd ... if you wanna see the 'Dogs - its probably best to wait until week 11. Most likely they will be hosting a game on The Plains.

If they are fortunate enough to win, which will be extremely tough given how stacked the region is, I look for the next game to be in your back yard. Division III, Region 9 is loaded with Columbus teams - a match-up with Athens will most likely be played in Logan or Lancaster.

Anyone else chuckling over the idea of the SEOAL adding Point Pleasant, Parkersburg and Parkersburg South? ... poor Floyd will go stir crazy trying to figure out a top 8 with so many 'foreign factors' involved ... lol

... 93dog "crazy" is not even close to what I thought when I read that potential SEOAL league lineup ... the thought of having to go see games involving "foreign teams" on BOTH sides of the court! teams with names such a the Poca "dots"???!!! - stop it !!!! not even a good joke to play on pfloyd!!!! let's just stick with pfloyd is NOT a fan of the "foreign school inclusion plan" ... I would lean more to joining a TVC "big school" division vs the "foreign" school plan ... Parkersburg?, Parkersburg South?, Point Plaeasant? (although Point DID have GREAT concessions when they were in the SEOAL back in the day AND played great tunes during pregame warmups (Floyd, AC/DC etc) ...
