DIII Athens Sectional Draw

Athens

1. Southeastern
2. Alexander (if they win tomorrow)
3. Nelsonville
4. Westfall
5. Oak Hill (now 5th best in my view)
6. River Valey
7. Crooksville
8. New Lexington
9. Zane Trace
10. Wellston

I believe this is by far the craziest sectional to vote on and the votes could go crazy here (i.e. river valley votes last year.)

As long as Nelsonville-York wins tomorrow night, I think they get the 1 seed. If they lose they get the 3 seed.

River Valley has always been a rogue voter that leaves you scratching your head.

Commissioner comes to the mic..... *clears throat..... In this year's vote - River Valley selects itself as #1 and automatic bid to state semi-final.

What has happened to River Valley, they just lost to Fed Hock and Athens, Athens looks to be playing better, but they were handled easily the first time. And FH is simply not very good

Southeastern now won 16 in a row (16-2) , have a kid that has averaged over 25 points and shot over 56% from the field the last 8 games and another one scoring just over 15, the role players stepping up as well. Keep up the good work. SE has the #11ranked 17-2 (d-2 )Miami trace on Saturday.
So at worse they are going into the draw at 16-3 possibly 17-2.

Southeastern is the 1. They avenged 1 of their 2 losses as well with their win over Westfall last week.

The next 3 have similar records, but I'm guessing the TVC bands together and gets the 2 and 3.

If Southeastern beats Miami Trace Saturday they should be a unanimous #1 seed.

I can agree with that, but problem is how many coaches will have already voted before the game?

I thought the winner of the Alexander/NY game would be the 1.

Time will tell.

I didn't realize that. I think Southeastern still deserves the 1 over Alexander, though.

I can make an argument for any of the top four to be the No. 1.

Westfall is 14-5, but their losses are to two D1s (Grove City and a team from Florida), Circleville (D2, 18-2) and Wheelersburg (defending district champ) and the split with SE. I know SE, Alex and NY all have their own impressive resumes. Should be interesting to see how the seeding shakes out.

My prediction is 1. Alex, 2. SE, 3. NY, 4. Westfall for the top four.

It sure won't hurt Alex having FOUR TVC teams voting in this sectional ...

;)

Thus my prediction. ;) If it was the other way, I would have 1. SE, 2. Alex, 3. Westfall, 4. NY

Southeastern dropped a close physical game to Miami trace today . Definitely a tourney atmosphere. First loss since December 1 st . 16 in a row. Good job , time to start another one.

16-3 on the season so far

Alexander proved today they do not deserve the 1 seed. 33-67 to Ironton? Southeastern my have lost, but it was a tight game to a good team.

How many D1 players does Miami Trace have? Ironton's Lexi Barrier is going to James Madison. Ironton is a top two team in the district, all divisions.

Ironton is much better than Miami Trace.

Miami trace probably has 1 player with the ability to play at the d- 1 level. Lexie barrier is not going to Virginia Tech. She is an excellent player that is going to James Madison. Southeastern Should be the 1 seed and they may not have the same type of team as Ironton but they do have a High major D-1 player.

Thanks for the correction on the school for Barrier.

Miami Trace is an up-and-coming team that will be pretty dangerous the next two years. They're good now, obviously, by their record, but I'll wager a Mountain Dew on Ironton beating them if there was a head-to-head matchup tomorrow.
