looking at the D-4 tourney ..
not too soon to look at seeding and district favorites and those with the best shot to get to the Convo.. ND is setting at somewhere around 11-2 and looks pretty certain to be a high seed ... Clay and Eastern have nice teams , who else in this district will be a high seed ? MD

Re: looking at the D-4 tourney ..
Here are the records at the Meigs sectional ... http://trivalleyconference.com/Schedules.html
ManitouDan ... Eastern or Waterford ... Waterford won the first head-to-head match-up ... They play again Thursday in Reedsville.
(I know on the web site it says (ATHENS) - but I guess the sectional is at Meigs now? Not sure of the reason for that?)

Re: looking at the D-4 tourney ..
Notice the top 4 teams in the Athens Sectional. All Hocking Division. The only losses for those 4 teams have came from each other and/or State Ranked teams, which 2 of those teams are State ranked. Depending on the next couple of weeks with Waterford playing at Eastern and Belpre playing at South Gallia, that should be the order of the draw as well. Waterford beat Eastern at Waterford and Belpre beat South Gallia at Belpre. South Gallia still has to play Belpre, Water ford and Eastern once. Belpre just has South Gallia and Eastern left. Of course a few other Hocking Division games as well. Eastern has Waterford, South Point and Huntington left and Waterford has Eastern and Fort Frye left. Going to be tight for 1st and 2nd and then for 3rd and 4th. Good Luck to the Hocking Division schools in their run thru the tournament.

Re: looking at the D-4 tourney ..
There are no girl's district games @ the CONVO this year!! Only Regionals will be @ the Convo!!! Girl's will be playing their district games @ Southeastern, Jackson, and Waverly!!!
Re: looking at the D-4 tourney ..
The #3 and #4 seed winners from Northwest will lose by 50 in the district semis.

Re: looking at the D-4 tourney ..
you talking when the top two teams advance out of the NW location to face the two top survivors from the Athens area ? I forget how the brackets go , sorry for the ignorance I just started paying attention to the girls tourney a year ago.
But in general I agree if what you are getting at is that Eastern and Waterford are 20 better (ON PAPER !) than either Clay or ND , not 50 thats a big stretch . Last year both Clay and ND were beat in athens by around 30. The only way to play with Waterford and Eastern is to be able to press and handle pressure. You Must play fast . You dont have a choice. Scheduling teams that are of that caliber more often would help. all depends on what your goal is I guess. MD

Re: looking at the D-4 tourney ..
I might be mistaken as it may rotate but I mean the #4 seed NW vs Waterford or #3 NW vs Eastern
The #1 and #2 seeds could probably stay around 30.

Re: looking at the D-4 tourney ..
As evidenced by last years results, there is a huge disparity between the teams at each sectional, and I'm guessing that this will play itself out again this year in the same fashion. Like it or not.

Re: looking at the D-4 tourney ..
lol ... I figured that one out on my own ... Honestly though, your first remark about the games being closer to 30 is accurate ... Eastern is a tad different this year than last years team, they are younger and the loss of PG Emeri Connery (graduation) takes the Lady Eagles down a peg or two.
